The flashers and hazards are run through the same relay. The power supply to the flasher and hazards sytem is run through that relay. This way when engaged, the flasher relay will kick off and then reset like a breaker causing the flash. If that flasher relay has failed to reingage, you won't have either. I would need to know the vehicle to be able to tell you what it looks like and where it is located exactly, but look for a metal cylendar about an inch tall and an inch and a bit in diameter. It will have two prongs set 90 degrees of each other and should be located on the interior fuse panel or near to it. You may also have a larger square relay if it is on a newer vehicle. This type uses a timer circut vs load heat to flash, but should as well have 2 pins set 90 degrees of each other.

the question is-- was you foot on the brake at home or was just the hand brake applied
when driving , slowing , stopping standing , all have the foot on the brake which is activating a brake booster and if that is faulty , the vacuum leak causes the problem

Stick with the 3.1 but.......
For the same money as a motor, why not move up a couple of years newer and buy another car to drive?

If this car has been in storage, try adding a tablespoon of DOT3 brake fluid to the engine oil to condition the seal. The engine has to come out to replace that seal. At least 8 hours labor.$$$$$$$$.

(check the interior light switch...
then move on to the door switches)..

If you have already done that

Might fit but if your car is fitted with a passive immobiliser that uses a transponder embedded in the key don't expect it to start the engine until it has been coded.

I strongly suggest you have a chat with your local dealer or auto locksmith and gather some basic information before you spend any money.

Sounds like a vacuum leak or open air filter box. Check all vacuum hoses are in good condition and make sure air cleaner is closed properly.

sometimes if the steering wheel locked with pressure on it ( like being parked on an incline with the wheels turned or with the front tires against a curb the steering wheel locking pin will make it difficult to turn the ignition not saying this is in your case can also try wiggling the keep in and out up and down (gently as to not snap the key off) while try to turn it forward

What you are saying makes no sense..If it is blinking then it is working. Well anyway the flasher should be located high up in the dash either to the left or right of the steering column. It probably has two flashers. One is for the emergency flashers and the other is for the directional signals. I think the one you are talking about is located on the left side. You have to explain in more detail and clarity as to what you are referring to.

I'm not sure what engine you have in your 95 grand am SO I will give you both the 4cyl and 6cyl Specs. Also you didn't ask for the torque sequence. I will include that as well for both. 2.3 DOHC Quad 4cyl: Torque sequence---> front ' 7 3 1 5 9 ' of engine ' 8 6 2 4 10 ' Step 1: torque bolts 1 thru 6 (26 Ft/Lbs & 90 degree turn) Step 2: torque bolts 7 & 8 (15 Ft/Lbs & 90 degree turn) Step 3: torque bolts 9 & 10 (22 Ft/Lbs & 90 degree turn) Recheck final torque in sequence *** CAUTION *** This engine uses "Torque To Yield" (TTY) head bolts that means they permanently stretch during the initial installation. New head bolts must be used when cylinder head is replaced or re-installed in order to obtain proper torque. 3.1 liter V6 Torque sequence--> ' 6 2 3 7 ' ' 5 1 4 8 ' Step 1: torque bolts in sequence to 33 Ft/Lbs Step 2: turn an additional 90 degrees Recheck final torque in sequence *** CAUTION *** This particular engine uses "Torque To Yield" head bolts(TTY) (that means the bolts permanently stretch during the initial installation.) You MUST use NEW head bolts when replacing or reinstalling the cylinder head in order to obtain the proper torque.

First, freon is no longer available. Your vehicle requires either R-12 or 134A. Take it to a ac specialist.

There is a bolt that runs through the center of the tensioner. Remove that bolt and the tensioner will come off.
