to what < window motors? what dies?
we remove the panel , like on all cars.
its covered in details in the FSM and alldata.com
we pry the door cards from bottom to top. with a plastic pry bar, preventing paint damage, etc. (special tools)
then use and ammeter to find the shorted wire.

that too is tool.
got tools?
or are you asking how to fix a car with no tools.
that be that longest post on record. but ,many here do ask that.
IMO

I uses my trusty ammeter amp clamp tool, DC amps
i push the button and see the current go to infinity.
this blows fuse or on some cars a Circuit breaker.
i move the camp down stream. the current may go to zero
at some point so the short is between , max and zero
if the current stays max and you pull motor plug.
then that is a shorted motor (or in some cases just a jammed window guide (and bits) overloading the motor)

quote
REAR WINDOW FEATURES
Rear Window Wiper/Washer
A rotary ring switch on the control lever, located on the
right side of the steering column, controls operation of
the rear wiper/washer function. Rotating the center of
the switch up to the DEL (Delay) position or the ON
position will activate the wiper. Rotating the switch ring
beyond the ON or OFF position will activate the rear
washer. The wash pump will continue to operate as long
as the lever or ring is engaged. Upon release, the wipers
will cycle three times before returning to the set position.

Owners manual will give location and fuse identification. Most fuse es are located in the underhood fuse relay center near the drivers side fender. It may also have an interior panel located on the drivers side under the dash area

If there is a separate switch for the rear wiper there might be a separate fuse. Check to see if your rear window cleaner works. If it doesn't check your fuse. If it does work i suggest that you replace the switch or check the connections of the switch. I hope this helps.

(what to does that mean) 4whl drv.
4H, part, 4H full, or 4L?????????
1: the lamps read wrong.
2; the front is dead on ice, rear slips and front dont pull?
3: on jackstands doing tests.?
4: off road. i see the front is is dead.?
??????????????????????????????
if this the Full time or part time system. (option)
if part time, its not for dry pavement, its for ice or off road.
if full time 4wd, then long answer. (pending what you have)????

if you are just trying to fix a part time system. front axle dead.?
then test the vacuum servo there. (command trac)
but on newer jeeps that part is gone, and the front axle
is driven or not from the transfer case.
did you scan the PCM first and check fuses,? see if you have DTC errors related to 4wd?

here ill quote the wiki
The Liberty is available with either a part-time Command-Trac or full-time Selec-Trac transfer case.

the diagnosis is totally different on each.
command track is part time. do not use on dry icefree pavement in 4wd modes.

The Selec-Trac transfer case has five positions: 2-HI, 4-HI Part-Time, 4-HI Full-Time, Neutral, and 4-LO.
got this?????

in above do not use part time on dry pavement.
only dirt or ice . period.

Tip

Replacing the CD changer

so, a while ago, my 6-disc CD changer stopped working. it would keep whirring for a couple minutes, and an error message would keep popping up on the display. last night i figured out how to take everything off, leaving only the CD changer

the first thing you need to know is that there is a Phillips screw at the bottom, just to the left of the cigarette lighter. once you take out that screw, you'll be able to pop off the entire front panel

unfortunately, the air controls will still be attached. there is a 3" long plug on the left side (behind the fan speed), an air hose clump that is attached by a silicone socket in the center, and another plug behind the cigarette lighter. IT WILL SPARK IF YOU TOUCH THE METAL BITS WITH ANOTHER METAL OBJECT. you won't need to touch those because there is a plastic release on one side of the socket. mine was on the left

now that you have safely disconnected everything, all that's left is the CD changer. you will probably see the 4 star screws first, since they are brass-colored. IGNORE THESE, at least for now. the ones you WILL need to take out are 4 Phillips screws, one on each corner of the CD changer

once those are out, there is another plug-in that you have to release, and something connected to the box on the right side. i ordered my new changer and learned this was just another plug. just pull it out by the black collar and it should come out easy

as for getting a stuck CD out of the changer, there are some small screws (mostly T15, but a couple Phillips as well). then, there is one or two panels that need REALLY TINY Phillips screws, but i didn't have anything that small, so i had to use the smallest flathead i could find. once you have completely removed most of the old CD changer, there is a column in the center that will just pop off

thanks for reading!

for coils to burn or melt indicates excessive current flow through them
have voltage checks done wiring as there may be a problem in the ignition module that is allowing excessive current to the packs

Possible causes
- Warm Up Three Way Catalytic converter deterioration or malfunction
- Exhaust system leaks
- Loose front or rear HO2Ss
- Faulty front heater O2 sensor
- O2 sensors harness is open or shorted
- O2 sensors poor electrical connection
Tech notes
As the code description implies the P0422 code means that the vehicle's control module has detected that the three-way catalytic converter is not working properly (is not as efficient as the factory is expecting). Replacing the oxygen (O2) sensors may sometimes fix the code, but in most cases the catalytic convert needs to be replaced to fix the problem. If the P0422 code is combined with other codes, try fixing the other codes first.

the pump dies when the engine stalls or runs too slow.
so, the steering has nothing to do with that , unless the
pump seized, so drop the belt and start car.
if car will not start, that is a no start question
post it as, cranks fast but will not start. and what engine option
some have diesel.
