I have a Kia Sedona 2005 and I can't fill it up with gas without the pump kicking off and I have tried several gas stations. Sometimes I can get a few gallons in with no problem but then it kicks off again and I have to spend twenty minutes dripping fuel into it until I loose patience. Help me!

Need more info, but sounds like your not getting enough fuel pressure or you need a major tune-up.

hi how are you? a ticking sound would be from one or more bad lifters. tyr to give it a oil change with a lighter weight oil for the winter.if that does not get rid of it then your lifters are no good and would need to be replaced.

First you need to know what your fuel pressure is. Install a fuel pressure tester to your fuel rail port and see what it is. Should be 48-50 psi.

Underneath your vehicle, a steel threaded cable comes from the back of one hub and is joined by a short cable from the other hub--then the original cable runs to a threaded end with an adjuster nut in it--and one smaller nut on the end outside of that--(this is the equalizer bar)--you'll see it real close to your transmission.
You might have to jack-up the back of the vehicle???
Pull the parking brake lever up sharply and then release it.
Pull the parking brake lever to the second click and leave it there. You're looking for a slight drag of the brake shoes when you spin the wheels.
To increase the drag, get under at the equalizer bar and turn the adjusting nut to take up the slack in the cables. Get out and spin the rear wheels if you think it's to tight.
I will say don't be afraid to crank on it for a while as in this case, a little adjustment really does not go a long way. When you think you have the drag right, go back in the car and pull the brake up the the fourth click. At this point the wheels should be locked and you should not be able to turn them even when trying hard. If you can, tighten them up a little more.
Once you've done this, release the brake and make sure the wheels spin freely. If they are still binding due to the parking brake, back off the adjustment a little. And that's basically the whole adjustment procedure.

Multiple possibilities. Is the fuel pump running and the turns of ( this will pressure fuel rail) when the key is turned to run position? EFI does not flood. Could be no spark, crank position senor.

I have the same van with similar problems. I had a small leak from the lower left corner of the windshield that dripped down into my fuse box when we had a heavy rain. My defrost light and dome lights got stuck on. We had to remove the fuses and let the box dry out. We had to take it to someone to find the leak and caulk the windshield. I don't know if this might help but you might look into this????? Good luck.

It could definitely be that the pump is not working. That would be my first thought.

It is best to get check engine light problems fixed right away if possible, of course many people drive with them on all the time, problem is that if not fixed other components or the engine can be harmed. If it runs fine and no safety is involved it could possibly run til august, no way of knowing.
