You jest its a Renault ,these vehicles do not like being read even just for OBDII ,Don't quote me on this one but from my experience of Renaults its normally a dealer job just to change the battery in the remote let alone a dyno test .

If none of the brake lights are working you could start by checking the brake light relay. If it has a fuse I would check that also but I do not see one on the link below. It is always a good Idea to purchase a auto repair manual for your car if you are going to work on it yourself. Link below should help find the relay. It refers to location of relay as passenger compartment fuse and relay box 2. If the row 2 brake relay is the same as the relay beside it you could try swapping them out. If brake lights work you had bad relay. I always remove the negative cable from my battery when working with electrical. If you remove cable in some cars it can create some problems like radio not work after you put cable back on. If you have change battery before and had no problem you should be ok.

If relay is not the problem it could be the brake pedal switch. When you push the brake pedal it should have some kind of plunger switch which when you push brake pedal it move plunger and close circuit and brake lights come on.
It could also be a bad wiring connection or ground. I will try to put some links below which are not your exact car but may help.

I have never been a car mechanic but over the years I had to work on my vehicle because I could not afford to pay someone else or just trying to same money. I bought my first car in 72 and I really did not know anybody which could help so I bought my first Chilton's auto manual. Haynes puts out a pretty good manual also. When it comes to electrical wiring sometimes the illustration in one may be different than the other. I have bought both before because of electrical issue to help figure it out.

Do you always go to the same pump? Some are more sensitive to others. But they are designed to prevent spillage, so will turn off when they sense back pressure. Maybe you could try filling slower. If that doesn't help, it is possible that there is an obstruction or damage to the filler pipe of your car - get your service garage to look at it.
