Try taking the O2 sensor out the before the cat and try it ,yes i know it will be noisy but try it in case cat is blocked ,if that doesnt work then change the coil pack and check the wiring loom to the coil pack in case the wiring plastic coating has gone all powderey

P0301-

Trouble Code Conditions:
Engine runtime 3 seconds, engine speed change under 1200 rpm, and the PCM detected a misfire condition present in one cylinder during the 200 (Catalyst) or 1000 revolution (Emission) test range.Note: If the misfire is severe, the MIL will flash on/off on the 1st trip!

Possible Causes:

  • Fuel metering (fuel injector dirty) problem affecting Cylinder 1
  • Base engine (compression) problem affecting Cylinder 1
  • Ignition system (spark plug or plug wire) problem on Cylinder 1

Would an idle control valve cause a car not to accelerate?

no, idle air control valve is literally to control your idle speed.
what happen when you press on gas? car shakes, RPM goes up, or engine just bogs down?

Loss of power on acceleration. engine bucking.

check transmission fluid.change fuel filter and air filter.try changing up on where you buy gas .because bad gas causes problems.
