Sounds like your throttle body and throttle plate are full of carbon. You also have a idle air control motor with a pintle on the end that gets carbon on them.Go to your local parts store and get a can of throttle body cleaner and a old tooth brush and clean throttle body and plate and if you can remove the IAC and clean the pintle and bore. that should take care of your stalling.

Sounds like your timing belt is stretched or stretching when it's under stress. Check your timing and start thinking about needing to get that or the Timing belt adjuster changed. Also run a bottle of injector cleaner through your system.

Sounds like it might be losing spark. You could test for that. If that's what it is, could be the crank position sensor. Or some other part of the ignition system that shorts out when it gets hot. Ignition control modules do that, so do crankshaft sensors when they fail. Check for spark soon as it dies or stalls. If it was getting both spark and fuel, it should start right back up, immediately. If you have to wait for something to cool down first before working again, could be spark related, but also fuel pump motors can act like that, so take nothing for granted. Check for spark and fuel-you will find the problem.

first, check the fuse to the cigarette lighter, the OBD2 connector gets power fromthat circuit. next, most common failure for your problem is a bad crankshaft sensor or the ignition module located under the coil packs. the crank sensor is located behind the balancer on the lower part of engine.if possible you need to check for signal form the sensor to the ignition module.

98 VW Died on Hot Day (30 degrees Celsius, 86 Fahrenheit)

  1. Check the ignition switch condition and operation. The electrical contacts in the run position may be worn or damaged. Try restarting the engine with all electrical accessories in the off position. Sometimes turning the key on an off will help in emergency situations, however once the switch has shown signs of failure, it should be replaced as soon as possible.
  2. Check for loose, corroded, damaged or shorted wires for the ignition system and repair or replace.
  3. Check for manifold vacuum leaks or vacuum hose leakage and repair or replace parts as necessary.
  4. Measure the fuel pump delivery volume and pressure. Low fuel pump pressure can also be noticed as a lack of power when accelerating. Make sure the fuel pump lines are not restricted. The fuel pump output is not adjustable and requires fuel pump replacement to repair.
  5. Check the engine fuel and ignition management system. Inspect the sensor wiring and electrical connectors. A dirty, loose or damaged sensor or control module wire can simulate a failed component.
  6. Check the exhaust system for internal restrictions.

Sounds like you have a plugged up catalytic converter. You cant clean them it will need replaced. If it is the 4cyl engine, the converter is the exhaust manifold on the front of the engine.

99 pathfinder trouble running

There could be several concerns.
The fuel pump is weak and cutting out.
The ignition coils are getting hot and cutting off. The torque convetor in the transmission could be staying in lock up mode, This will cause the vehicle to die out , there is to much torque on the engine when at idle, causing the engine to die out.
The exhaust system could be clogged.
I would try and get the vehicle to a mechanic or dealer to check out .
