I had the same issue. On the back of the engine (behind steering column) you'll see a pressure sensor with a wire going to it...check your connection. If that doesn't work, then your pressure sensor is probably at the end of it's road. You can get a new one for about 15 bucks at any parts store...hope this helps

SOURCE: the car starts off in 2nd gear (automatic) and

My Chrysler Concorde lxi did the same thing. The computer for the transmission has a "limp home" mode that places the car in 2nd, and won't let it shift. This is to reduce damage to the transmission while you are still able to drive it home, or to the nearest shop. This isn't something you can fix yourself...take it to a reputable transmission shop, who can plug their diagnostic computer (specialized for the transmission computer) to pinpoint the problem.

put number 1 cylinder at top dead center and drop in distributor so the rotor points to number 1 on cap. may have to try several times as gear moves when lowering dist.

The first thing to do is have the battery tested, just because you charged it doesn't mean it will stay charged if the cells are sulfated up or shorted.

Put an Amp Meter in series with either battery cable

You should have no more than 25 to 40 milli-amps
when everything goes to sleep

If you do start pulling fuses until you get to the circuit
that is a problem, then get a wiring daigram & work
that circuit

If you open the door or turn on the key everything
wakes up,so keep your head in the game.

Iam referring to retained accy relays & modules
for chimes,radio,windows,etc,

Why the big drop when you did the starter?
Got to have wiring diagrams as your thoughts
start to develop

Don't guess,use logic & testing only
