Noisy central locking Nissan MIcra

My Nissan Micra 3 door diesel has recently developed a noise in the central locking. When I lock the door from the outside using the key fob, it makes a mechanical whining crunchy noise inside the driver door. Whn I lock it using the lock button between the seats it locks without noise.

Hi there, this is a very common fault, you need to replace the drivers door actuator to stop the noise, ive done loads of these. hope this helps.

It appears that it does. You will have a locking switch on the drivers armrest, and a lock and unlock button on the remote.

Nissan micra central locking locks but makes a grinding sound on on side of the car.

Put your ear to the door and listen to where the grinding/buzzing noise is coming from when you lock the door, sometimes it maybe more than one door! The door it's coming from need a door actuator, common fault with the k12 micra's, which i'm guessing this is a k12 model!

Hope you are not still locked out. Our Micra has a secret keyhole in the passenger door handle, you have to flick out the little plastic cover. Good luck!
