95 grand am quad 4. water on floor boards?

I have vacuumed the water up several times and it is never ending. It doesn't have to rain. I can vacuum the water out drive around for hours, floor will be dry when I park the vehicle but go back out couple hrs later to leave and floor is soaked again with standing water?

it is a channel for drain under floor it collects water and doesn't drain so water comes up into car and soaks floor board. I know it sounds weird but yes actually the water comes up into the car. you need to drill a hole under the car to allow drainage in the channel.

The Pontiac is notorious for its recalls on the leaking I had found it leaks by the driver side wind shield wipers.

thats just first thing that comes to mind.

How to get water out of car from open sunroof?

A vacuum at the car wash. Use one of those vacuums and just vacuum until its just damp and then run a fan in there. That should take care of it.

Wet floor board when it rains.

The sloshing water could be water in your doors. Old Range Rovers used to trap water when the drains became plugged - it could be that the water is building up there and coming out of the door speaker grilles. Is the car fitted with a sunroof? Pinched or restricted sunroof drains can also lead to this kind of problem.

Vacuum leak on 95 buick riviera, I have several problems related to vacuum leaks. First is cruise control quit working recently, second windshield washers not working and third air conditioner seems to...

May have to check out if the vacuum motors have the vacuum tubes attached but this may take a lot of work to disassemble the heating ventilation air conditioning out of the dash and underneath the dashboard. If rain enters the compartment under the dashboard, the pan that is designed to catch water may be disturbed or cracked somehow. Try to check fuses for a/c and the heating, the cruise control, and windshield wipers to see if there is an obvious electrical issue there. The vacuum leak is not related to the windshield wiper motor not working.

Good luck on this repair.

05 Reo Trunk fills up with water. Gasket replaced but didn't solve problem.

After it rains have you noticed and water drips that might give you a clue as to where the water is coming from? It might be leaking around the base of the back window. Does the water come in only when the car has been driving or does it come in while the car is parked? If the water is coming in while its parked then there is a hole somewhere on top, probably around the back window, and is running into the trunk. When its raining or after it has rained look in the trunk and see if you can see water droplets and this should give you a clue where its coming in. You can also hose the car down yourself. This might be a good idea to try when the trunk is dry so you can see what does and doesn't allow water in the car. Try running water on one side at a time. If it only seems to come in after you have been driving the car, it may very well be coming in around the wheel wells or around the gas fill pipe. Look inside the trunk and see if there are any rust spots and use a flash light to see if you can see any holes through the metal. take a close look around the sides on the floor of the trunk and see if there are any pieces of rust accumulating, this might help direct your search for the hole. You may also want to look behind the tail lights and see if there is rust damage. Check the seals around the tail lights and see if its getting in that way. Look behind the licence plate for rust damage as well. Try those things and see how it goes. Good luck.

A 1996 Buick Century Costom with a wet floor (a puddle of water)in the back seat. I have mystery water in my passenger back seat. I have poured water on the car to dupicate rain and find the leak. The door...

You forgot to add WIND to your experiment! Poured water is not driven water and sometiomes the pressure and VACUUM of the moving vehicle is the problem. As you drive a vacuum is created around any area not directly exposed to the airflow. This can "pull-up" seals that are tight when you are still, and also there is a possiblity that the water came from underneath your car!!

What is causing water to collect in my floorboard?

I think i may be able to help. First check to see if the water has a sweet smell. If so its antifreeze and your heater core "located under the dashboard on pasenger side" has failed. The antifreeze will leak out and drain to various plsces on floor. If the water is only water then chances are that one of your hood gaskets that suround the hood hinge support has failed. hope this helpes and good luck.

4 wheel drive not engaging

I do not have a vacuum diagram for the 89 Cherokee, but my 89 had the same issue several times and all it was is that the block of vacuum lines that go into the front axle on the rear of the axle on the passenger side of the vehicle. I ended up having to put a zip tie around the axle and hose block to hold it on. Have not had the issue again since doing this. Hope that helps.

Transmission not shifting correctly

It could be several things like Torque convertor, faulty vacuum control etc.Make sure the vacuum hoses ,including the engine are in good condition as an engine vacuum leak will affect the auto as it needs a good and consistant supply of it,this supply of vacuum comes from the engine manifold and runs to the trans.Must be plugged in and in good condition.Make sure you have a good vacuum by unplugging with the engine running and see if it sticks to your finger like a tiny vacuum cleaner. This is a cheap and hassle free check to eliminate a possibility.Oh yeah,if vacuum no good ,rectify and it may help you out
