Question about 2006 GMC Envoy Denali

1 Answer

Where does the harness plug into the XM receiver and how to I get to it?

I know the receiver is located behind the glove box. I need to get to the harness to disconnect it but I can't see where it connects to the box. Do I need to remove a duct or something else to be able to see it? Does someone know where there's a step-by-step or at least a picture of how to get to it? thank you.

How can i hook up obd1 to a 1994 ford villager

The Villager is actually a Nissan Quest, so it could have two different plugs. The Nissan version uses a connector under the steering column or a box behind the glove compartment. You would need a special adapter for the connection under the steering column.
The box behind the glove compartment has a screw you turn to make the check engine light flash.
If it has the Ford system, there are two harness plugs in the engine compartment that are used to make the light flash.

2004 bmw 325ci ... caught fire behind the glove box . i need to the the code/ part number of the wire harness or harnesses specially coming in from the left side behind the glove box.. also it connects to...

I have had to replace harnesses in a number of vehicles before, both foreign and domestic. The dealership should be able to know what harness by the VIN.
If you're trying to avoid the dealer, you may try having them look and give you a price, then say you need to gather funds and ask what the part number is.... so you can give it to them when you get the funds and can buy it ;)

I need to disable my alarm on a 1997 bmw 528i.

Now im not sure since the manual says your model has the same alarm system as the 328i and on the 328i you can remove the module to disable by doing the following. you can unplug the control module. It is located under the glove box. Climb under the dash on the passenger side and remove a few screws on the trim panel under the glove box. Theres a black control module with a green connector. There should be a lock tab on the connector. press the lock tab and pull out the connector. The alarm should now be disabled. But if it has the special transponder key this may not work.
But if the only reason you want to disable it is because of the motion sensor setting of the alarm for no reason there is a solution for this. To disable the motion sensor, hit the lock button to arm, then hit lock button again within four seconds to disable motion sensor. Red light on rearview mirror should flash four times, then pause, then start flashing on regular intervals. this is most likely the reason if your having the issue where the alarm goes off every 20 minutes.
If you want to completely remove it below is a wiring diagram taken from the manual for you alarm system.
this is from the manual its the alarm wiring diagram.

I want to disable XM radio and OnStar on my 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix. Can I remove the fuse(s) for each Unit without harming my vehicle? Can I disconnect any wiring harnesses? Where do I find each Units...

I have disabled factory xm/onstar units from many cars with no issue. i believe the onstar/xm units are both located in the trunk of you car behind the carpet (usually labeled accordingly). If you can find the fuse dedicated to the unit you can pull that. I have found the fuse is sometimes located on the unit. If you cant find the units then you can pull out the radio and unplug them from the back (more often than not it will be the smallest harness coming out the back). A quick way to test... have your car on and pull one plug at a time... make sure, once you have located it, test you audio (some harnesses are for amplified audio systems). The only neg. effect i have seen (rarely) has been the loss of the door chime.

Blower motor runs even when ignition switch is off. Also where is the blower motor relay located?

remove glove box, look on top of heater box in recessed portion. You will see a muti-wire plug facing up. This is the blower resistor. Check for burnt connections by removing plug (common problem). Blower high speed relay located above blower motor (also behind glove box). Check for burnt connections. Repair harness available through G.M. dealer.

A/C fan only works on #4

The resistor IS the problem, but not by itself. If you change only the resistor, they will keep going bad and you will have the same problem again. Get a new resistor and also the plug & wire harness. This is experience talking. There is pin in the connector plug that burns up, which ruins both components. I have not had to mess with it since I replaced both components.

The resistor is located behind the glovebox. It is mounted with 2 screws. Changing the resistor is easy. The wire harness is different because the geniuses at the Chevrolet/GM parts division didn't bother to color-code the wires on the replacement harness. Be sure to pay attention to which wire goes where when you splice in the new harness.

If you are talking about the PCM it is behind the glove box. Remove the glove box and you will see an aluminum box with a large wire harness going into it.
