Try using the old key and place it near the barrel then turn the new key. These keys have RFID that the immoblizer can detect. Once key is changed, it will still look for original key to disable immo.

SOURCE: how to remove a citroen berlingo dash board

Not very difficult once you disconnect the battery ,then remove the steering wheel and work from their following your nose for the screws ,i think the fittings that hold it in place and the heater unit are on the engine side of the firewall so you have to remove the wiper motor and the plastic trim below the screen .This is a lovely job to do and i dont envy you on this just done a peugeot 306 heater core still have the scratches all over my hands

It can be oil rings. It can be valve seals or it can be you fuel mixture. Sounds like worn rings.

My van has been revving up and down for 2 days and would cut off while driving and now wont start.

The first thing you need to do is run a fault code test through the diagnostic connector under the dash.

Renault Traffic immobiliser fault. When I turn the key the red dot in the middle of the dash is still on solid, not flashing and the van turns over but won't start. I have changed the fob batteries.

Undo the plastic casing around the ignition.
Its only around 4 screws easy.
look around the barrel where you insert the key, there should be a black plastic ring around 3 inches down the barrel this is the key reader its not fixed so twist gently and slide up the barrel as close to the key as the wires attached will allow.
then try starting, if it works then the transmitter in the key is most likely deteriorated . if it works its only a quick fix and could deteriorate in time.
a new key and coded from Renault is £300 with no guarantee that its not a different fault so look at buying one of ebay and get that paired to the immobiliser.
there is another way of bypassing the immobiliser by removing a ball bearing in the fuel pump a bit more complex.

The Citroen Berlingo is produced by the PSA Peugeot Citroen alliance since 1996. So in 1986 it would be C15, not Berlingo.

How can i find the Location of the BCM on a 2006 Ford Focus?

it needs to have a matching program for the ecm and the immobiliser. A new key cut to the existing barrel/lock and programmed to the vehicle ecm will solve the problem. Even if you get a new barrel and key you will still have to have it reprogrammed to the ecm and immobiliser system

You will need the old key. If you have it tape it to the new barrel each key has a chip to tell imobeliser its correct the old key taped on the barrel is the only way

Check for a ring that fits outside the ignition barrel cover. It is usually connected to to two wires. Try removing it before you insert the key.
