What does it do cold and hot. engine.?>
all things good and bad. this tells the tech, what it can be.
does it stall,
does i near stall (way lower than 800 rpm hot.
i love that guessing here, so bad that. Unseen un tested , guessing.
all engines idle high cold, started, ALL do.
but how high is high 1500 or 4000rpm.????
high needs a matching number to have meaning at all.

no power on driving, my guess is engine reaches 180F+ coolant temps ok, (must)
and has no power on a fully hot engine, am i guessing correct>?

low power causes, (there are 50 causes besides melted cat)
Is the CEL light on key on, then off running engine (yes, yes)
that means the ECU has bad sensors, and is trying hard to tell you what they are, so let it. (ask how)

  1. low engine compression (if low timing belt slipped !) 60k service point skipped, i bet yes, !
  2. bad spark 90% of old cars are never tuned up. some not in a decade. 60k full service done, i bet no.
  3. fueling bad, to weak or too much flooding. (ask; lots of tests)

there are simple tests. do you wish to GUE$$ or TEST.

a vary rare car on the road any 93 Isuzu, Defunct here.
3.2L gas. engine.
6 cylinders. 6 injectors that can leak or clog. 3coil pack (wasted spark system)

fuel pressure is 41-46 PSI, not 20
is spark timing at 5 Deg. BTDC? if way off the cam belt did slip.
by way off mean like 20 degrees or more retarded, is they all love to do. not serviced.

lucky for you , the 3.2 is Non-Interference

SOURCE: 2001 Rodeo rough idle in drive, and sometimes on the highway

Check the overdrive accumulator cover on the transmission for any leaks. This can cause some rough idle situations and minor slipping but if caught early enough isn't bad to fix.

It sounds like it might be your throttle position sensor. Is your check engine lite on?

SOURCE: i need to know what the power drive and winter

The winter drive button gears the transmission down so that it doesn’t spin when you take off from a dead stop in the snow and ice. It only activates by pressing and holding it when at a stop and then accelerating.

Power is for when you are hauling heavy loads. It holds a higher rpm before shifting to next gear giving you best hauling performance.

Check idle speed control. It is a bypass around throttle plate. They become dirt. Best to replace.

94 Isuzu rodeo started to idle high

Vehicles tend to idle higher for two main reasons, as the temperature becomes colder, the engine must work harder to warm itself up so it idles higher to accomplish this faster. The second may be due to a vacuum leak in the engine. Any other symptoms?

I have a 1999 Honda passport 3.2 liter engine that is idling high. I replaced the tps which helped somewhat. When I stand outside the car and start it, it idles fine. But when I sit in the drivers

Hi,
You're kidding right?

Is the door open or closed when the idle issue occurs?

This is the same as an Isuzu Rodeo. I'd go look on the Honda/Isuzu online forums for an answer.

I have a 93 isuzu rodeo that at times smells like fuel and gets 10 or 11 miles per gallon yet runs fine, except for an occational 2000 rpm idle. what could cause the poor milage and smell of fuel?

check for a leaking fuel rail,or injector,or the fuel pressure regulator, which is a vacuum operated valve at the end of the fuel rail.the high idle is caused by a vacuum leak, and if the regulator is leaking, that could be the fuel smell

Lost power to engine

Check make sure all plugs are firing. Sounds like what my 93 Rodeo was doing-Idled okay but very rough when in gear. Turns out only 5 out of 6 plugs were firing due to a defective ignition module- 100 bucks later it works fine.

Hope this helps.

I have a 1995 isuzu pickup it giving me error codes 15 and 34 and I've already been to 3 repair shops and can't get it fixed can you give me some help

I have the manual for my 93 rodeo and code 15 says ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR-SENSOR SIGNAL SHORTED, GROUNDED OR OUT OF RANGE. Check your coolant sensor by the water neck-it sends a signal to your dash gauge (coolant temp)
Code 34 my book has 2 symptoms- if its a 3.1 liter engine it says MAP SENSOR-SIGNAL VOLTAGE LOW-CHECK INCORRECT IDLE SPEED, VACUUM LEAKS, LOOSE AIR DUCT, MAP SENSOR CIRCUIT
If its NOT a 3.1 liter engine, then code 34 is EGR TEMPERATURE SENSOR CIRCUIT-SHORTED

Hope this helps.
