They shouldn't need to be pressed in but there is a stubborn ring on the end that goes in the transmision that needs to be seated buy pushing on the axle with good force being carefull not rip the axle boots.

To remove the axle nut of the car you will have to turn the nut to the left.
You will force in turning the axle nut when trying to remove it.
