Question about 2010 Chevrolet HHR
The problem is since I took my car to a dealer i have had this problem with my Throttle jumping slightly forward when i accelerate. I would say it's about 700 rpm. It does come back but not before it aggravates me. In short, it jumps forward and accelerates on it's own it seems.

a clogged exhaust system could cause this. Symptom would be car runs great then can't go faster than a given speed but you can cruise slower with no problems. The its gets worse over time. Always runs good at lower rpm's, then lower, then lower as the exhaust gets more clogged. Have the tech do a backpressure test

an evap vent valve malfunction generaly will not cause any drivability issues.
a surge under light acceleration and lack of power could be caused by a fuel delivery problem sutch as a plugged filter or a weak pump. it could be a malfunctioning o2 sensor or even a vacum leak.
without a scan tool to view the engine data and trouble codes, you could be in for a hair pulling experience trying to pinpoint the problem.
