SOURCE: The battery keeps going dead on 1999 Mitsubishi

There is an alternator fuse located on the positive battery clamp or in the fuse block under the hood. if it is part of the positive battery clamp it is a dealer only part and will run $10 to 20 dollars. If it is in the fuse block you should be able to get one at the auto store and modify it to slide in easily. Get a flash light and check all of your fuses carefully. The blown fuse may be hard to spot. The design of the car lets the battery go dead with out even turning on the charge light on the dash to let you know you are not charging the battery.

The "Charging Sytem" includes the battery, the alternator, the voltage regulator and all related connecting wires and cables. If the charging system was tested and it tested "good" then all of these components are working properly.
If your charging system is good and you continue to have a dead battery, then you probably have an "Ignition-Off draw". This means that something is staying on after the ignition is shut off. This could be interior lamps not shutting off due to a bad door switch, or the headlamps being left on, or some other electrical component in the vehicle that is malfunctioning. If this is the case, then you need to have your vehicle checked by a competent Service Technician who, using the proper equipment and techniques, can locate and repair the source of the problem.

I have a 87 caprice got a new battery and its dead in two days.

1. IF you have been driving it then the alternator may not be providing the power needed, the system is drawing on the battery and the battery is not being charged either when the engine is running. You should have the alternator checked.

2. If you alternator is good and the car has just been left sitting and the battery has drained then you have an excessive electrical load drawing power from the battery whilst the car is turned off. . It does not take much to drain your battery so you cannot start the car in just a day or less. A power widow motor or power seat motor that has power switched to it because the switch is bad is enough to run down the battery leaving you with insufficient power to start the car.

bad cell inside battery,so it won;t hold the charge,if battery checked OK,it might be a bad bridge (three diode inside alternator, change AC to DC) in your alternator

There can be many different issues with this... without checking i can guess on a few things. First check the Alternator relay and fuse. It can also be draining power from the actual fuse block. there may be a short in the wiring as well. Could also be a bad/defective alternator. Start the car and disconnect the negative battery terminal/ post while the car is on. If the car cuts off while doing this you have a bad alternator. if its still runs when disconnected your charging system is fine.

I have a 2000 Ford Focus. One week ago the battery light came on and stayed on for two days when the voltage drained and left me stranded on the side of the road. I took the alternator to a rebuild shop...

Sounds like the alternator is still not making the correct voltage to charge the fully. The battery light comes on when the alternator doesn't make enough voltage to charge it. Your alternator might still be charging, but not putting out required voltage. I would have your alternator & battery tested. Hope this helps you.

I have 1989 300e mercedes. If i drive and let sit overnight it will not start. Battery dead. I replaced the battery and alternator. If i charge battery for less than 5 minutes it will crank and start up....

Do the fans run properly and shut off when cars is off? If not they may be draining the battery. A bad stock antenna could drain battery because of the control module. Also the central locking pump if it keeps running (its supposed to shut off after 30 seconds) but if it fails it will drain the battery.

Disconnect each system 1 by 1 or pull fuses 1 by 1 to find out. I would believe its your neutral safety switch tho. Its on the transmission.

Battery died, replaced 3,three,111, days later.now Ihave no ing. or starer power

Something is draining the battery, Is the battery drained after sitting over night or within driven miles. If it drains over night power is being puled from a source, or the voltage regulator inside the alternator is pulling the power and draining you battery.

My 2000 ford ranger and something draining battery

bad alternator possible or bad battery..even though its new that battery can be bad. I would take a volt meter and with the engine running check the volts of the battery..If the volts are 12 you need to replace alternator, if volts are 14 you need to check the battery. to check the battery hold the volt meter to the battery and have someone start the car..while the starter is cranking battery volts should not drop below 10volts.if they do your battery is bad.
