2006 Nissan quest no start?Dealer said computer. After 3 bad comp. in a row, all installed by dealer, still no start.

Not the ECU then is it. Check you have power where you should and then if all OK and good spark, look for fuel problem.

The car will not start

has to be either fuel system, electrical ignition, of computer module failure. The dealer should have run a diagnosis on the engine and components -- and should know what the problem is.

If they have not diagnosed it -- why not!
Find another dealer if you do not get a satisfactory answer.

I have a daewoo lanos i have a new key does it need coding to the car?

if there is a computer chip in the original key you will only be able to get a new one from the dealer, if the new key you have turns over the engine ,but it won't start then you need a dealer key. Only try to start the car with the new key once though if you try it too many times the car will shut down and the dealer will have to reset your computer for you to be able to drive the car.

No year or model but if its a newer model no chance dealer only ,something is wrong with engine like no oil and its thrown immobilisor to prevent engine damage ,can only be reset by dealer with diagnostic equipment ,I know that these cars now on the newer cannot be read with a code diagnostic machine because last month i done a course on diagnostics and the reflex/bear reader couldnt connect to the cars computer like i said it wouldnt but?? the course was about using a special tool that doesnt connect to computer ,but i learnt this a college 40 yrs ago but a refresher course was good for moral .

BMW 323i 1999 takes a long time to start in mornings and after short layoff. Engines seems not to want to crank. Battery OK. Changed sensors, fuel pump & relay. Dealer cant find fault. Starts after...

Friend, you've changed everything but the right thing. The temperature sending unit. It tells the computer to go into cold start mode to start the engine by putting more fuel into the engine. If this sensor is erratic, sometimes don't work, it will cause a hard start situation if not in cold start mode. Dealer cant find this because it's a manual thing and may not be showing up on his tester.

How to restart the computer

The only way to start or restart a computer is to turn key on, once engine starts the computer will be in open loop when engine gets to normal engine temp. and all sensor's are working right, it goes into close loop and the computer takes over.

My jeep grand cherokee laredo, 2000, wont start... engine turns over - battery works - just won't start???

engine turns over so starter is ok. chrysler computer can cause this situation. Many computer module warranties were extended by chrysler because of problems. check with dealer. They can scan computer to verify. Make sure you try starting fluid first to see if fuel pump is out. have someone spray into air filter box while trying to start car. if pump is bad it will start.

A yellow warning icon is showing in the upper left to middle of my dash. What is this? Can I drive with it? It is sililar ot an engine picture

Does it have an arrow pointing down? If so, it is the engine power limiter system. You can drive it, but engine power is greatly reduced. I've driven mine to the dealer like that, but my dealer is only 2km away and it took me twenty minutes. I would have it towed if your dealer is farther than that. Mine came on because the battery was not providing full power on start upo and the computer said that there was a problem and limited engine power. the dealer replaced the battery after several visits and the problem went away.

My 1997 Dodge Caravan 3.3 engine starts and stops

you need to have the engine coolant switch checked, since the computer relies solely on sensors, the ect tells the computer how cold or hot it is so the computer will make it a rich or lean mixture to start the engine,if it tells the computer that it is 75 degrees the computer will lean the mixture like starting a car in the winter without a choke.
