DEALER ISSUE, TAKE IT TO THEM.

SOURCE: 2004 Mazda RX8

Had the same problem today with flooded engine. I tried new plugs ($86.00) and used the clear flood mode but to no avail. Spoke to a tech at the mazda dealership and odd as this sounds it worked. On the right side of the engine on the intake about half way down the runner you will find 2 rubber plugs that cover vacumn ports. The front one is the easier of the 2 to access, hook up a piece of vacumn hose to that port, on the other end you need to hook up a funnel. You will have to adapt the hose up to get it to fit. Remove the fuel pump relay, it is the blue relay at the front of the fuse box and is closest to the radiator. Pour a half to 3/4 quart of transmission fluid in the funnel and have someone crank the engine(with a battery charger or jumper cables hooked to your battery so you won't run the battery down). Leave throttle closed, as the fluid gets sucked down you will here engine compression build and it will act like it is going to start, at that point while it is still being cranked stick the fuel pump relay back in. It should then start, it may spit and sputter but it will run. Remove the hose from the vacumn port and reinstall port plug. The car will smoke for quite awhile but the smoke will finally disipate. From start to finish it only took about 2 min. to get the car started. I asked him if that much fluid would hurt it and he said no. He also said that they see this problem a couple of times a week. He also said that they don't take the plugs out and clean prior to doing the procedure, it will work on the old plugs. This saved me a tow to the dealership and probably a couple hundred dollars.

SOURCE: 1990 toyota celica fuel problem.

start with trying to start the car with your foot hard on gas pedal, all the way to the floor this will stop fuel flow on start up its called clear flood mode. as the engine starts to fire and run ease off the pedal until it idles, it may take some time to run smoothly. if it doesnt run or stalls after a short time and then will not run i would try a ECU engine control unit as it supplies the earth circuit to the injectors, may be thats whats holding them open or they are dribbling badly and require overhauling

Cylinder 2 not working Daewoo cielo 1.5i 1995

Do you have spark at cylinder 2? If not, check spark plug wire or spark plug. Another possibility is the ignition coil pack (the thing your spark plug wires run in to). Hopefully that is not the issue because they are expensive new. An easy way to check is to pull the spark plug out of the engine then reconnect it to the spark plug wire. Turn the engine over and check for spark at the end of the plug. WARNING: don't touch the plug unless you like pain. You can always buy a spark plug tester. Anyway, this will determine if you have spark problems with this cylinder.

Hi I drive an 1998 Daewoo Cielo 1.5 My car struggle to start when it stands overnight or during the day. When it does start you get a very strong smell of gas. What can the problem be?

The engine is flooding with gasoline. Fuel pressure exceeds the ability of the check valve to hold it back. Either the check valve needs replacing, or the fuel tank pressure is too high. The fuel cap may also need replacing.

Turns over but doesn't start

How long since a tune-up? Any applicable trouble codes?
If it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it while you check for spark at the spark plugs, gasoline engine. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure. Also, check fuel injector pulse.
What is your year--make--model--engine size, it didn't post for some reason?

Daewoo cielo 1.5 1997 Doesn't get enough spark on the pluqs

How do you know it is not getting enough SPARK on the Plug? IT could be the Plugs are fouled, it could be LOW COMPRESSION, it could be Bad Spark Plug Wires...

2004 cavalier. Changed timing chain head gasket. No spark. Won't start

we have no idea what you touched, or pulled. ?
which engine option, why make us guess the most vital part????????
on all engines, we check compression first after fiddling cam timing.
this proves we didnt Frackup. 150PSI on all cylinders, is GO.
or read the FSM on Compression, that be SPEC.
next comes spark,
you said no spark but fail to say no spark on 1 cylinder or all cylinders.
IT MATTERS !
but if you connect a scan tool , and crank the engine for 5 seconds.
all modern cars 1987 to now, will show why it dont starts. for spark
all cars will in fact set a DTC error
all care will show bad CMP or CKP. sensors. (precusors to spark)
or more info, the newer the car, every year, newer. (evolution)

here is the engine line up off wiki, (fastest source)
2.2 L LN2 I4 (gasoline)
2.2 L L61 I4 (gasoline)
2.2 L L42 I4 (gasoline/CNG)
2.3 L LD2 I4 (gasoline)
2.4 L LD9 I4 (gasoline) pick one.?
now my wild guessing based on 1000s of owners asking same quesitons same way, zero input.
1: unplugged cam or crank sensor.
2: coil packs not plugged in , 1 or more.
3: timed wrong. didnt read the FSM pages on how to do it right and tenssion a belt right if belt.
4: lots of other parts not connected ,?

wider guess 2: L61 engine
aka;
his engine is also known as a Z22SE in other countries such as The United Kingdom and Australia.
On engines produced before 2007, spark was produced via 2 coils in a cassette that bolted to the top of the valve cover which contained the boots for each spark plug on the bottom of it, eliminating the need for wires.
ok no wires, so no crossing them or forgetting them.

tell more get mre
tell engine, and 100x more.

really, what engine.
it ok 99% ask with out telling here.
but how can you fix something like an engine and not know what is there.??????

While drviing down freeway today the 2.5 ltr engine died and will crank but will not start. one month ago it was backfireing in intake and dieing on freeway and i thought i had bad gasoline it fixit

you need three main conponents for the engine to run, fuel, spark, compression . first have someone to crank the motor and put the spark plug lead of the plug and hold it near the block and if there is spark it will jump a inch or so, check the fuel filter , hold the fuel line clear of electirical and heat, crank engine , fuel will flow, when engine is running but running rough as a miss fire disconnect plug lead one at a time till you find missing cylinder

I backed out of the drive way today and put it in drive and the car died. We can not get it started. It sounds like it's out of gas. It's turning over but not firing? It ran great last night.

is it out of gas?? if not after cranking over engine pull out a spark plug if
there is fuel it will be wet and smell of gasoline. next thing will be to determine if the vehicl has spark-put the plug into the plug wire place the plug onto the engine block (away from fuel sources) and have
some one crank over the engine breifly-note that you could get a shock
if the spark plug is not properly grounded (if this happens then you r doing it wrong). watch for spark across the electode. engine needs three basic needs-air fuel and spark with that it will ****,sqeeze, bang and blow....the four stokes of a 4cycle engine.

No start on old gasoline forklift engine.

most likely the ign switch is ok if you are getting spark. so you have a hot spark at coil and weak fire at plugs? if you have a test light check the positive side of coil for power when turning key on and cranking. if it is dropping power on positive side then ign switch could be bad. can "hotwire" coil by jumping a wire to positive side of coil to pos of battery this will eliminate ign switch.
