On extremely hot days the car stalls after a short drive

On extremely hot days, usually above 40c, the car, a 2000 au Ford Falcon Wagon, stalls after a short drive and will start again after a rest but continues to stall repeatedly usually after about 5 to 10 km. Once the days are coller she runs fine.

in a plug on the side of the gearbox under the car (16mm),running in "D" with the engine running at 1000 rpm with the box warm but not hot,pump it in until it runs out of the plug, a pit,hoist or solid ramps will be needed for this as well as 2 people

On stinking hot days, (probably above 40C), my Ford Falcon AU2 2001 6 cylinder automatic trans sedan behaves as if it has a fuel starvation problem. After about 20 kms, it keeps running but will not...


The tank has to remain air tight. In order to pump fuel at high pressure into the injectors. When you pop the gas cap you should hear a whoosh of air going in. If you can get it to a scanner, you might find a O2 sensor bad or some other little quirk that will drive you nuts. Good luck.
