Hi:
The SRS light is: Suplemental Restraint System.
That is Honda speak for: Air Bag system.
The light should come on when you start the car, and go out in 10 seconds or so if everything is good to go on the air bag system. If something is wrong, the light stays on, and the air bags won't work.

Srs means secondary restraint system. e.g air bags and things like that. when it stays on for a few seconds its because it is doing a systems check. if the light stays on all the time then there is a problem. hope i helped.

On my dashboard I have the letters SRS in red. What does this stand for and how do I fix it???

hi there Supplemental Restraint System is the meaning of (SRS). This refers to airbags that are located at the front part of the dash board and inflate upon a collision in order to protect the occupants of the vehicle from major injuries from the steering wheel or wind shield. the way to fix this problem is take it to your local mechanic and get the code that is triggering this light to come on and then you can fix the problem and the light will then shut off after codes are cleared thank you and have a wonderful day

What does SRS lit up on the dashboard mean. 1995 accord wagon.

the SRS stands for Supplemental Restraint System. Most people call it the air bags but the SRS system includes all of the sensors and control units for air bags, seat belt pre-tensioners and passenger detection systems on cars that are equiped with themeach time you start the car up the SRS control unit will do a self-test of the system to make sure all of the sensors are working properly. The SRS light will stay on while that test is conducted. If all is well and everything passes the on-board test the light will go out in about 7 seconds. If something is wrong the light will stay on.whenever a failure is detected for any reason, the SRS light is turned on and the system is shut off. The air bags will not be deployed when the SRS light is on.They call it a Supplemental Restraint System because your seat belts are your primary restraint system.

SRS-seatbelt response system, is a part of your airbag system and braking system, once you hit brakes very hard SRS makes sure that the belt is getting tight, in case of collision seatbelt gets stiff and the airbag blows up. SRS light coming on and staying for few seconds is fine as computer is checking the system, once it stays on or flashes you need top go to a garage as you might get a surprise blow in the face by the airbag.

SRS light appears on dash, what does that mean?

srs is your supplemental inflateable restraint, or"air bag" system, this means that your system is experiencing a problem, and setting a trouble code that you need to have scanned, and find out what needs replaced
