Question about 2003 Chevrolet Malibu
My neighbor just purchased a 2003 Malibu v6 with 60k; looks great but starts when it feels like it! Cranks over fine starts sometimes then after trip to local store restart cranks but no start, call tow truck after 5 minutes, egg on face when he turns key and it runs! Not safe for a widowed mom! Old owner said never had problems! Car runs fine once started, rides good then anti theft light starts blinking! It has a new ignition switch in it from what I can see. I am going to look at it again test codes, it wouldn't start last night at store. Any support will help! Thanks Joe P
MAY BE YOU HAVE A DEFECTIVE KEY, CHECK IF THE KEY HAS A PELLET IN IT, IF SO THE KEY IS BAD AND YOUR DEALER CAN REPLACE IT.
THE PELLET IS A RESISTOR FOR THE ANTITHEFT.

Fuel pump relay sensor. $10-$15 @ your local dealer. mine would start sometimes, sometime after trying for 5-10 mins. sometimes not at all. it would also randomly stall out and start right up again. shop could not find any thing after having it for a week. so i tried a experiment and swapped the a/c relay with the fuel pump relay and taa daa good as gold.

I had the same problem, out of no where it did not want to start and the anti theft light started to blink. For some reason it only did it when my wife was driving the car. I replaced the battery even though it was good because if we left the stereo on for about 10 minutes it wouldn't start anymore. Since i replaced the battery i've had no problems what so ever.

If it won't start try this. Turn the ignition all the way on. Let set with theft light blinking. After ten minutes the light will stop blinking. Turn off the ignition and then start it up. Mine does it frequently as well.
