Maybe the alternator is bad. A high pitched whine could mean that the alternator is not working properly.

One can test, by removing the belt to the alternator and running the engine and seeing if the whine goes away.

Or one could bench test the alternator and see if it whines.

If you did not drain the fuel all the way or put a stabilizer in the fuel then you have gummed up lines for one thing. The other noises are not really concerning.

Hi last week a high pitched noise started on my 02 hse. the noise seems to becoming from the rear of the vehicle, it is a continuous noise, I recently had the fuel pump replaced, could this have anything...

When you turn the key to position II, does the noise start then? This would be the fuel pump. If it is making a noticeable noise while driving, then you should get whoever fitted it to check it over. If it failed, your car would stop immediately.

Need to check the ground path on the squealing relay. A poor ground will cause this condition.

Engine will not crank, battery and starter have both been tested and pass, hear a high pitched spinning noise when turning the key over

The high pitched spinning sound you hear is the starter bendex trying to engage the flywheel. The starter may check out ok, but the bendex is turning but coming out. The starter will need replaced.

My 2004 Chevy Trailblazer is making a bizaar noise when I start it up. It's starts as a high pitch squeal then drops to a lower pitch squeal then ends in kind of a grind. Thought it was a slipping belt but...

Hi Eabyrd05.
It's possible that you have a Starter or Flywheel/Flex-plate issue. Your starter Bendix may not be completely disengaging from the flywheel like it should. I would take it to a mechanic that you trust and have them pull the starter and look at both the Flywheel/Flex-plate, Starter Bendix and solenoid. Hope this helps.

Very hot alternator after just replacing and a high pitch squeel

THE ALTERNATOR CAN GO OUT DUE TO A WEAK OR BAD BATTERY CAUSING IT TO OVERCHARGE TRYING TO KEEP UP WITH DEMAND ON THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. IT WILL HAVE A HIGH PITCH NOISE WHILE CHARGING AT A HIGH RATE AND FINALLY IT TO WILL GO BAD.

HAVE THE BATTERY TESTED AND CHECK THE CHARGE RATE AT THE ALTERNATOR AND AT THE BATTERY.

How would you know if a start signal is reaching starter solenoid? new starter , battery is good some thing is killing volts before car starts

When your solenoid receives a voltage signal from the ignition you can hear a "click" when it engages. If your engine turns over like it wants to start or you hear a clicking or a buzzing under the hood your starter works. If you turn your lights on after starting and they work it's not electrical at all. If you try to start it and you hear a high pitch whining type of noise and then your battery dies, then the teeth on your flywheel are gone.  The starter will just spin there and it will drain your battery with a quickness.
