You have an accuator (ac-shu-ateor) that controls the heat and cold air going through that dash, Mine went bad too.. easy fix and cheap too! if you take out the "ashtray" piece if the dash youll see it back in the underside if the dash... it even has a hole that you can force it to move from hot to cold with a screwdriver... call a parts store and ask them if they carry the ac accuator

Sounds like you need to replace your blower motor and if it does blow air just not from the heater you will need to take it apart and see what has it stopped up.

Is the fan turning on? I assume so.. when you change the hot/cold selector do you hear the flaps inguage? could be the linkage there. Otherwise, check your coolant level - make sure your heater core isn't plugged (let engine heat up, then see if the heather both heater hoses going into the firewall are warm). If one is colder than the other, flush the heater core.

SOURCE: 1996 chevy blazer my air on heater will not blow

the idea of the switch is run on vacuum and is not making contact with the switch it self either worn contacts in the switch itself **** as an obstruction as well or the vent door is stuck in just that position either behind the glove box or the ash tray are the vacuum lines one of them may be pinched off or the door needs a bit of help until you can free it up

SOURCE: 1994 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer Heater,

The most likely cause is a broken vacuum line in the engine compartment. The next thing would be a bad (leaking) mode control switch. (It switches the vacuum to your mode control motors.)

There should not be an open vacuum hose. Look around it for a place it may have come off of. If there is enough play, you can trim a quarter inch of the end, if its stretched out, and replace it back on its fitting. If you really cannot find where it goes, just plug the end with somthing till you figure it out. A small screw, or similar usually works.

Your heater valve is stuck open, also in a pinch you can crimp off your hose to the heater coil at fire wall. Try to find the heater valve vacumb hose under the hood see if it is bad and fixit. or some models have a cable to the valve could be broken.

Heater blows out cold air

sound like you need to change the thermostat it sticks closed so the hot water from the motor don't go through the heater core or the heater core is clogged .
