Question about 2003 Pontiac Grand Am

1 Answer

I have a 2003 grand am. The other day my windsheild wipers stopped working all together. I cannot hear the motor working when i turn them on. I changed the fuse in the driver's side panel and the wipers still don't work. I was wondering if there are any other solutions to the problem other than changing the wiper motor.

Test the connector to see if it has power with a multi-meter. Corrosion plays a big factor. But considering it is a 2003 I'd probably say it is the motor considering you changed the fuse.

SOURCE: wipers

You have two problems. The first is the wipers turn off and stay in the upright position and do not close. The motor is fine. There is a steal 'close' tab that has been bent out of position. You just need to push the steal tab back into position. You can use a chisel or screwdriver to pound it back into the 90 degree position.

The windsheild washer motor probably needs to be replaced

I have a 1998 ford contour it was a bad snow day the other day and I turned on my wipers just out natural reaction the wipers started and then stopped

Check fuses. If you can still hear the wiper motor going with them not working probably popped the wiper arm trans. Sometimes they can be snapped back together with no part replacement.

2004 buick LaSaber windsheild wipers stopped working after I turned them off. Came on again for short time a few days later but soon quite again.

Try checking your wiper fuse first. If the fuse checks out, make sure the motor is running. Check to make sure no wires are burnt around the motor or loose. If the motor checks out, it could be your wiper switch.

My windsheild wipers stopped working on my Pontiac 2002 Grand Prix?

this could be caused by a few things first thing check the wiper fuse to see if it is good if so it could only be two other things the wiper motor or the wiper switch the wiper motor will probably be the cheapest to replace you can get the parts at your local parts place or at a junkyard. one of these things will fix your problem. hope this helped

THE WINDSHEILD WIPERS DON'T SHUT OFF

The park switch is built into the motor. YOu need a new motor. Find an independent shop and have them replace with a rebuilt or new aftermarket unit instead of a dealer unit. The labor guide shows 1.4 hours to replace the motor
