Toyota Cars & Trucks - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support

The last couple of times I have seen this complaint, the "Lock" button on the master (driver's door) switch had been depressed. Unlatching the lock button (pushing it again) solved the problem. On most cars, when the lock button is depressed, the windows can still be operated by the driver, but prevent the windows from being operated by the passengers. Toyota is different. If the lock button is depressed, nobody, including the driver can work the wndows.

P0121 is normally a bad throttle position sensor - since you've already replaced it, check for damage in the wiring harness.

If you have a scan tool that can read the values, check to see what you get at the idle and WOT positions.

I only have one thought - the relevant computers monitoring and controlling these systems carry out a self-test when the ignition is turned on and the result is indicated by the various lights on the instrument panel. Such things as airbags and abs can be tested without the engine running while tests of other systems can only be completed after the engine is started and if all is well the remaining lights will go out...

I would definately check the fuel pump relay, should be located in power distribution box in your vehicle, you may be able to switch it out with a relay of the same type to see if it turns on the fuel pump, but you may need a new fuel pump if this doesn't fix it. Hope this helps.

These trucks have a fuel shut off to keep them from " dieseling" once the engine gets hot. They go bad at the drop of a hat. Google your year ,make and modle for a location, which will be some where near your throttle body. Once youve located it a easy check is to disconnect the wire, screw it out, seal the hole with your finger and have a friend start the vehcle and see if it idles correctly then. If it does then youve found your problem.

Sounds like you either have a break in the wires going to the plug on top of the tank or the connection on top of the tank has failed

The #1 cylinder is misfiring, possible causes are spark plug, plug wire, injector or a mechanical problem in the engine. If it's never been tuned now would be a good time for plugs, wires and fuel filter. I hope this helps. Take care.
