Check the wiring connections to the front brake switch. If all OK, then it could be the switch.

SOURCE: front brake lever spongy, not operating brake

Gravity bleed front brake. no lever pumping. Looden cap on master cylinder, front wheen straight ahead, open bleeder and watch for air being expelled. When only fluid is coming out, close bleeder. Expect the front pads totake a few miles to seat, They will improve as they wear in. Good Luck / be safe.

Can you hook up rear brakes to front brake lever on 2012 Harley Davidson trike?

Hi, Sally you could but why would you want to? if you are thinking about going down that road you would be better off having all the brakes on the pedal not sure how effective just the lever would be Harley did not design it that way for a reason, your foot can generate more pressure than your hand for more information about your question and valuable "FREE" downloads that you will need please click on the websites below. Brake lights inopreable

Hi Anonymous, if both the front brake lever and the rear brake pedal do not activate your brake light then you either have a bad bulb, or there is a problem with that docking station behind the tail light, or bad connections and or bad wires either from the ignition switch to the brake light switches or from the brake light switches to the tail lite assembly. So grab your test lite and go to: http://officialharleyparts.com/wiring_diagrams.php for a wiring diagram and strat tracing wires and connections. Good luck

Have you recently done any work to the right handlebar or had the front brake lever off? If so, there's a good chance the lever wasn't reinstalled properly, or the switch is broken.

Sounds like the front brake assy. on the handle bar was removed without the card board insert installed between the front break lever and the little piston which can damage it and cause the front brake switch not to work right as the piston in the handle assy. won,t slide back and forth when the lever is moved in and out

No brake light

There is no brake light relay as far as I know. The brake light is operated by either of two switches. There is one switch inside the right handlebar switch housing that is made when you pull the front brake lever. The other switch is under the bike somewhere along the metal brake line running form the rear brake master cylinder to the rear brake caliper. This is a pressure switch. Check the two wires running to this switch as the power for the front brake light switch comes through the wiring at the rear brake pressure switch. Jumpering this switch should cause the light to come on.
