I would say the problem is one of a few things.

The first I would suggest is to make sure that your network cable is the correct kind. A "NULL" or "Crossover" cable will look the same as a regular CAT 5 but will not work for this purpose. Check to make sure you have a minimum CAT 5 network cable.

Secondly I would check to make sure that you are connected to the correct port on the back of the printer. Connect to the 10Base-T/100Base-TX port.

Reset you router to factory defaults by holding the reset button down for 5 to 20 seconds. There may be a setting that is restricting access.

You may not be able to use USB and Network at the same time, you will have too look into this.

Try a firmware upgrade on both your printer and router.

Your network settings and firewall may be preventing the connection.

This will sound silly, but have you properly added the network printer to a computer and tried printing? it may not be working fine.

Is this router hooked up to another router? if so you may have to open your router settings (instructions avail on web) and turn off DHCP, and set the default IP address of the router to match the first three sets of numbers in the first router (the one which supplies the internet) with the last number being 254 (avoid conflicts). So if your first routers address is 192.168.0.1 then you should set this one to 192.168.0.255. I don't know if this will work, but it should turn your HUB into a switch which could help. For this to work you will have to run the "INTERNET in" cable from the first router to one of the numbered LAN ports.... and just forget the "INTERNET" port.

Hope this helps. Hard to figure out without being there.

1) The error E808 occurs when one of the connectors in the fixing assembly is not properly plugged in when the unit is on.

2) This might have occurred while replacing the fixing assembly or performing a troubleshooting attempt on the machine.

3) You can find the connector above the fixing assembly at the right corner, behind the cover on the machine's side.

4) To clear the E808 error, unplug the machine from the power supply for at least 10 minutes. The error will appear again if the thermistors are in bad condition.

5)The fixing film assembly should be replaced in such case.

The fixing film unit is faulty (i.e., the main thermistor TH1 has poor contact, or the fixing heater is faulty). The main power supply PCB is faulty. The DC controller PCB is faulty. Caution To clear the error, execute the following in service mode: COPIER>FUNCTION>FCLEAR>ERR.

I guess youve tried switching it off and on?
If so It needs its system software reloading. Only Canon reps can get hold of this, best to get someone locally.

1) The ir400 copier laser scanner has a number of fans that generate the signal. The fan number 5 is the curl reducing fan.

2) If any error occurs from that fan, then you will see the 004-error code. The error occurs when the fan wiring is faulty.

3) The fan can be faulty or even the DC controller PCB can also damage. There can be any foreign objects objecting the fan's rotation pathway.

4) If you find any object, then remove the object. Check if the wiring and the connector of the fan are normal.

5) Replace the fan if there is a problem with it. Also, replace the DC controller. Check if the fan FM5 is positioned correctly.

6) The Heat Exhaust Fan FM5 error can also occur. Check if the connector connection between the Heat Exhaust Fan and the DC controller is intact.

The problem is with the DC controller board, either bad connection or bad board.
