DISH Network ES190482 Remote 40.0 ES190482 - Page 9 - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

Traci Pogue,
I would be happy to provide additional assistance on that. Unfortunately the only codes I am able to locate for that equipment are 761, and 780. This link http://www.mydish.com/support/apps/remotecodes.aspx may have additional codes you can look up or try.
If none of the codes work, and you have a 20/21.0 remote, you can utilize the learning feature to teach the remote the buttons. You can find full instructions at http://www.mydish.com/support/teach-learning-remote-20-21 . If you still need any assistance after that, let me know here. I would be happy to see what else can be done.

Isanchezsusm,
I understand overheating can be frustrating, and would be happy to help with this!
The best option is to make sure the receiver is in a well ventilated area with adequate airflow. Also make sure there is nothing on top of the receiver.
If there is a good air flow, and it's not in an enclosed area, the receiver may have to be replaced to prevent any issues. If you would like me to look into that option, you can email me directly at thomas.faust@dish.com

038,019,033. If you wish to get more codes to different brand remote controls, check the site 'electro-help'. Search for it by internet.

Kenneth,
I would be happy to assist you in setting up multiple remotes to the same TV. To do this is a quick fix. If you want the remote to control the TV1, make sure the remote has a green '1' tab in the bottom. Once that is done, access the system information screen and program the remote to the listed remote address. The steps are the same with the TV2 remote, except make sure there is a blue '2' as the bottom tab. I have provided the steps to program the remote below!
Addressing Remote to Receiver:

1.) Go to System Info screen.
2.) Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
3.) Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the number pad on the remote.
4.) Press the pound (#) button.
5.) Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record.
6.) Test the remote and see if it works.

Laurie Pearson,

I can understand the concern. In most cases the battery cover should just slide off towards the bottom of the remote. There should be an indent in the cover where you can put your thumb. Press down on that and slide downward to get the cover off. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Your remote need cleaning. Take out batteries out of it. If you wish to get more details, check this site. Pull up older posts there. Details about how to clean and repair a remote control is described in detail in one among the posts.

Hello, German Quinchia!

I would be happy to provide assistance on this. It sounds like the remote itself may need to be setup correctly. Since this is going to be the second TV, on the bottom of the remote, make sure there is a blue 2 at the bottom instead of a green 1. Once you have the blue 2 showing, try addressing the remote again.

If the problem persists, remove the battery cover. Inside will be a switch. Make sure the switch is toggled to UHF rather than IR. Let me know here if the problem still continues after that.

When battery is changed, all the previous settings will be lost from the remote control. You should once again set it to your device, using codes.

Heather,

I would be happy to help! I would just need some more information to ensure an accurate resolution. When you access the menu, does it say 'Main Menu' with options like 'Program Guide', 'System Setup', 'Preferences', etc...? What cable is plugged into the secondary TV? It could be a Coaxial (single black cable), or an RCA (Red, Yellow, White) cable.

Can't you call the customer support number for DISH Network in your area? They can trouble-shoot for you and tell you what to do to set it, since it's their equipment. The number is probably on your bill each month.

I saw your post and would be happy to help you with that! Who is the manufacturer of the sound system? I'll be able to get you the codes and instructions to do that.

Stacy,

We can definitely look into re-addressing the remote for you. Verify the remote is in SAT mode by pressing the SAT button for me. Once that's done, try changing the channels.

If the problem continues, follow the steps below to program the remote! Let me know if it continues after that.

Addressing Remote to Receiver:

1.) Go to System Info screen.
2.) Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
3.) Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.
4.) Press the pound (#) button.
5.) Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record.
6.) Test remote and see if it works.

rdjennings10,

It does sound like there could be a power problem with the receiver. The Dish Pro Plus LNB won't cause any issues with that receiver. If the receiver is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, try plugging it directly into the wall. If it is already directly into the wall, try a different outlet if available.

If the problem persists, we will have to replace the equipment. You can reach me at thomas.faust@dish.com to get that taken care of.

alberps01,

The exact angles to point your dish vary based on your area. You can use our "Point Dish" menu screen to get those. On most receivers it can be accessed through Menu > System Setup > Installation > Point Dish. On a 922 it is located at Menu > Settings Point Dish, and on the Hopper Menu > Settings > Diagnostics > Point Dish.

Once you are there, enter your zip code on the screen. Change the satellite to the one you wish to find, and the locations will auto populate. If you have any questions, or need further assistance, let me know!
