Fix-It Utilities is a program by Avanquest that is marketed as an all-around computer protection and enhancement tool.
Fix-It Utilities scans your computer for potential problems and fixes them automatically. Additionally, it monitors your computer in real time to alert you about hardware and software issues before they can cripple your computer.
If you are looking for a utility to handle your computer maintenance for you, Fix-It Utilities is one program that you might consider selecting.

Double-click the downloaded program file if you purchased the digital version of Fix-It Utilities directly from Avanquest.
If you purchased the boxed retail edition, insert the installation disc and allow a moment for the Fix-It Utilities installation program to load.
Click "Next" when the Fix-It Utilities Installation Wizard appears.
Read the terms of the Avanquest license agreement carefully before continuing.
If you are willing to abide by the terms, click the "Accept" button to continue.
Enter the name that you would like to register Fix-It Utilities under, and then type your 24-character product key exactly as it is shown in the product packaging or the email sent by Avanquest when you purchased Fix-It Utilities online.
Click "Next."
Select the radio button labeled "Complete" to install all of the features of Fix-It Utilities, and then click "Next" twice.
The installation utility begins copying the files for Fix-It Utilities to the hard drive.
When this process is complete, the installation utility displays a screen with four check boxes.
Use the four check boxes on the screen to indicate whether you would like Fix-It Utilities to check for and install updates automatically, whether you would like the program to make snapshots of your system for recovery in the event of a problem, whether you would like the program to monitor your computer for malware and viruses and whether you would like the program to scan your email.
Click "Next," and then click "OK" and "Finish."
Fix-It Utilities is installed.
If you used the check box to configure Fix-It Utilities to check for updates automatically, the program begins scanning the Internet for updates immediately.

I had a similar problem with a similar item. If you purchased it online, call the help line they will give you a key# or turn it on directly. If you purched this from a store, the store also offers the same options I mentioned. Be aggressive, someone will respond!

It seems that your spouse downloaded a "trojan" -- software that claimed to scan, but itself is a computer-virus.

Have you tried to use "System Restore" to go "back" in time to a checkpoint before your spouse installed/ran that software?

Avanquest Fix-It... | Answered on Oct 22, 2010

Presumably you purchased online in which case conact the vendor who will have a record of your purchase, email and serial.

Use a professional uninstaller. E.g.: My uninstaller, Perfect Uninstaller or you can use Tune Up utilities.

Avanquest Fix-It... | Answered on Aug 25, 2010

This came from the Avanquest Forum.

You can uninstall using the Add or Remove Programs component in the Windows Control Panel. This will initialize the Windows Installer to assist you with uninstalling.

If SystemSuite or Fix-It is not listed on the Add or Remove Programs list you can remove the program using the MicroSoft Installer CleanUp Utility. Please go to the following page and follow the steps on the web site. Run the utility and see if it detects SystemSuite or Fix-It and if it does then delete the entry. Once you've done this check the install directory located at C:Program FilesOntrackSystemSuite or Fix-It or VCOMSystemSuite or Fix-It and delete the folder if it still exists.

Best of luck getting this removed...I've read many reviews and people really dont' like it too much.

As soon as your computer boots press and hold F8 Key to start it in Safe Mode or in Last Known Good Configuration.
I recommend you to start in a Safe Mode. Assuming you are running windows 7, click on "Start" Menu and type "System Restore".
Follow the screen and choose a date before you started installing your new software. After finishing wizard it will reboot and should work normally. However you need to reinstall the software because it might not be there after restore.

WARNING:- You might loose all the new data or files you created on or after that date, therefore before starting "System Restore" get the backup of all date you have created on and after the date.

Well in that case go to the Program Dir find the Folder it is in, and simply Delete the files, delete them all, then remove delete that Dir, Now try a reinstall. Either that or in that Directory look for the uninstall exe file and double click on that and try that way first... else remove them all.

Go into the the Program Files directory of your C drive. Look for Avanquest or Fix-It directory. Look for unwise.exe or uninstall.exe or something similar. Double click that and follow the prompts. If that doesn't work, please let me know and I'll do some more research.
