The set should have the standard self check which even if it does not make it on would indicate where the problem might be:

Note that if you unplugged the set it will delete the errors, you have to in that case turn back on and when it fails do the check again.

This question posted more than one time---model indicated prone to all kinds of troubles but this sounds like the light engine (major part) is damaged.

You are SURE the lamp is good....well...if you say so. However, it sounds like you have made audio connection but no video connection (or lost it or is incorrectly set). Try other input modes. See if you an bring up "setup". If so...you screen/lamp is working.

1. (Lamp may light and go out) suspect bad lamp part # 915P020010 2. Check for 12-volts DC at J-9 connector pin 4 on the Engine Driver PCB, if missing check for an open F9A09 on the Power PCB, if it is open replace F9A09 part # 283P127060 and the Light Engine part # 939P977010 3. (Lamp may light and go out) Check for 5-volts DC at J-9 connector pin 1 and 2 on the Engine Driver PCB if low or missing check C9A37 and C9A38 both 3300 UFD 10 V part # 181P732040 on the Power PCB (part # 930B921002) 4. At power on the lamp turns on and off three times and then the unit shuts down with a red lamp LED (lamp error). Replace the Light Engine part # 939P977010 5. Lamp enable line at J14 pin 6 does not switch to 5 volts after turn on, 12 and 5 volt supplies are good. Suspect the Light Engine part # 939P977010 6. Lamp enable line at connector J14 pin 6 on the Engine Driver PCB switches to 5 volts after turn on and does go to 0-volts (low) after 5 seconds, 12 and 5 volt supplies are good. Suspect the Lamp Power PCB (ballast) part # 939P978010 7. Lamp enable line at connector J14 pin 6 on the Engine Driver PCB switches to 5 volts after turn on but does not go back to 0-volts (low) after 5 seconds, 12 and 5 volt supplies are good. How about a little more information and tell me what the set is doing or not doing?

Mitsubishi... | Answered on Aug 28, 2012

Try searching for a possible "factory reset" for this brand. It will be a secret set of buttons on the remote to enter the default reset menu. I hope that gets you something to try. BTW you should have the original remote or a universal remote with all buttons communicating with the tv to do this. ie numbers, menu, up, down, left, right...

Mitsubishi... | Answered on Jun 21, 2012

Try "initializing" a "factory reset" power on the tv then on the remote "menu 1,2,3 enter". Start the reset to default and see if the new refreshed settings help.

do the lines go from top to bottom, and are they about 1 inch apart? or do they move diagonally across the screen?

Mitsubishi... | Answered on Jun 14, 2012

If it is not there or grayed out you may have to try the soft reset first--set also has a hard one but only to be used as last resort.

Soft one: set on, menu,1,2,3 enter.

Unless you examine it or it is shattered inside the only way to know is replace it----set should have a blinking light but does not always have that----set does have a self check if you want to try that--will work even if lamp is bad--give you a blink error code.

Mitsubishi... | Answered on Jun 06, 2012

It does not matter---these sets are so bad (this one) they sell the entire chassis or the light engine which has the color wheel in it and last time I looked the wheel does not come unless you buy the engine.
