Hi,
No problem,we can connect them together ..I want to emphasize that if we try to convert RCA jacks to HDMI ,you need to buy a special converter box and it cost you some $ .
However ,Even though you have not state your TV make and model but most of the today's TV's have not only HDMI but SCART ,RCA and Optical connection possibilities as well ..
So to be on the safe side I will describe all possibilities and than you will decide which way to go..
and select whichever you want..

TO WATCH DVD/VHS ON THE TV:
** Combo's "AUDIO and VIDEO OUTPUT as " 2xRCA Audio+1x Video " or if exist "Optic Cable OUTPUT or " SCART Output " (whichever you want ,based on the existing sockets and necessary cables on your hand ) will go to TV
** AT TV side : you need to connect "Audio+ Video input s " as can either be : 3xRCA jacks or "Optic cable input " or SCART IN connector of your TV ,
** than just play DVD or VHS

TO RECORD YOUR TV Channels ON VHS .
** AT TV side : you need to connect "Audio Output and Video " as can either be : 2xRCA jacks +1xVideo or "Optic cable output" or SCART connector of your TV ,
** to VHS 's " Audio + Video input or "Optic Cable input"
or SCART of your COMBO (whichever you want ,based on the existing sockets and necessary
cables on your hand )
** than just switch to REC mode on VHS to record on whatever you watch on TV

Pls remember.."IN " goes to "OUT" or vice versa..all the times..

NOTE: *IF you still want to use "HDMI" connection I will provide an URL link to you later than you can buy it thru internet..it is mostly not available or too expensive on local electronic markets.....

Hope this helps!..if more help requires pls let me know.
Take care and please

Yes. DVDs are easy as you probably already know, you just need a DVD capable drive and appropreate software to play. VHS tapes are another matter altogether. You'll have to purchase something that will convert the analog signal from the VHS player to a digital signal your PC can use. I have a device I use to convert VHS tapes to DVD (ADS technologies) I could use to watch tapes but the software leaves a lot to be desred.

sound like you have a dirty video head, try cleaning the head with some isopropyl alchol. if it does not fix your problem, then you will have a bad video head. good luck
