Ssurely. If any metal contacts to the circuit board, during the set is powered, will cause a short circuit, and damage to components.

Red light blinkign means "security" led and this device could be asking about secure unlock code.

Probably there is a fuse blown, you can use a tester light to check the two voltages, yellow (constant voltage, means all the time,ok) and red (this voltage has to be switched wiht the ignition key) wires.

If you dont have any fuse blows and voltage is right in the wires, then your problem is the security code, this code generally is located in the user guide; if you dont have this manual, need to visit your delaer and ask about this. Keep in mind that secure code is unique for each device, so, anyone could tell you from Internet.

Hope this helps.

The transit screws are for locking the CD mechanism when it is shipped from the factory. Most of the Car CD players have floating suspension for the CD transport mechanism. This prevents CD skipping when you are traveling off road or when driving on bad roads. The CD mechanism has four shock absorbers or dampers fitted underneath . The Transit screws tighten these dampers and make them stiff ( in other words no soft action ), so if you forget to loosen them and travel through a bad road the CD might skip. On good roads one might not even realize the difference.

The transit screws keep the components from moving and getting damaged during moving or shipping. The unit will not operate if these screws are not removed.

if you have connected all the wires correctly you probably have a faulty dash,
If it is a removable face take it off and clean the terminals and re connect.
Hope this helps

There are two 3mm white LEDs inside the face-plate that need to be replaced. Remove the face-plate and turn it over. Remove the 4 screws in the corners. Un-snap the plastic back off the face-plate. This exposes the back of the printed circuit board. Pull the volume knob off the front of the face-plate. You may need to use a small screw driver to gently pry it up. Flip the face-plate back over and remove the one screw that's holding the printed circuit board in. Separate the printed circuit from the front of the face-plate. Be careful to not lose the spring for the push pin. Flip the printed circuit board over and you'll see a raised metal box surrounding the display. The one end of this metal box is covered in black tape. Remove this tape to revel a small cavity in the side of the metal box with two 3mm white LED in it. These are the 2 LEDs that need to be replaced. This cavity is so small there's not much working room. Note that the positive terminal for each of these LED is on the left and the negative terminal is on the right. Rather than un-soldering the old LEDs I found it easier to use a small pair of diagonal cutters to just cut their leads and then pull them out of the cavity. Leave enough of the old leads sticking up to solder the new LEDs to. Trim the leads of the new LEDs to the proper length, slide them into the cavity one at a time and solder their leads to the stubs of the old leads. Make sure you get the polarity correct. Put everything back together and you should be good to go. I hope this helps you out.

you are probably better off just replacing the deck. there is a plastic piece in the dvd mech that breaks and can only be repaired by sending it to dual to be repaired.

Probably you are mising 1 voltage, check this you need to have 2 voltages ok,1 voltage has to be present on the yellow wire(constant voltage, means all the time,ok) and the second voltage on the red wire (this voltage has to be switched wiht the ignition key)check this and try to fix the problem, probably there is a fuse blown, you can use a tester light to check the 2 voltages.or if you dont want to do this just conect the yellow and red wires together and the unit has to turn on.

Hello. here is the solution...if you still need it..

Open up the face plate... by unscrewing the 4 screws at the back corner of the faceplate

Expose the PCB with the LCD display mounted on it...
towards the right is black tape... remove the tape.
this exposes 2 White LED ( 3 mm) tapering inside the cavity of the LCD display..

If the symptoms are what u say... then the LED's are dead...

Unsolder the bad LED's with new ones.... and then fix everything back

hopefully everything works.. Cheers.

Hi Robert, whenever you put two or more speakers in parallel, the power handling must be equal in each speaker and the sum total of the power of the speakers, must be greater than the power of the amplifier, to avoid breakages due to excesses of power
I hope my comment has served you
Greetings Franco Dosil
