My Lexmark X1150 connected to HP laptop with Vista will only print the first page of a document. The OS won't let me turn off print spooling.

I have an x4550, running windows vista basic on an hp dv6000t notebook. i had the same problem. i contacted online lexmark tech and here's the solution that worked for me, thanks to help from lexmark (transcript of chat):
Please follow the steps given below to change the spool data format:
1. Click on "Start," "Control Panel," "Hardware and Sound" and "Printers."
2. Then, right click on the Lexmark printer icon and left click "Properties."
3. Either on the "Advanced" tab or the "General" tab for some models, there is a "Print Processor" button, left click it.
4. This is the spool format setting. It should be set to the default to "LEMF." Change it to "Lexmark." Under "Default datatype," select "NT EMF 1.008."
5. Click "OK" and exit back out to your desktop.
6. Please try printing again.

After printing a job, the print indicator window only goes to 99% and the job never completes itself, although the paper spits out and it is finished. If I try to then print another job, it won't print because it thinks the first job isn't done (but it is). When I try to open the queue, the first document says "Deleting- printed". It's almost like it's stuck at deleting the old job. The only way I can print another document is to turn the printer off and on again, then it resets itself to "idle". This can become quite annoying if I need to print multiple documents, as I have to turn the printer on and off between each job. What can I do?

I've also had this problem with an HP LaserJet 4650dtn printer. I've solved this by: - Stop the "Print Spooler" service. - Delete all the existing print spool files. (Stored in "C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS" by default). - Start the "Print Spooler" service. - Right-click the printer's icon in the Printers and Faxes folder and choose Properties. - Click the Advanced tab. - Click the Print Processor... button. - Make a note of the existing "Print processor" selection on the left (in case you need to revert it.). Then change it to "WinPrint". Click OK. - Click OK on the printer's properties window. - Try sending a print job to see whether it persists in the print queue.

I have Windows Vista Home O/S, with McAfee security center. The printer will operate just fine, but, will not scan or copy. I have uninstalled the old software and drivers and downloaded the drivers offered from the Lexmark site for the Vista operating system. Each time it shows that it has downloaded and installed successfully. I will try to use the All In One Center to start troubleshooting the problem and it shows me a window that states the all in one center has quit operating. I have been able to use these functions before I updated the McAfee for a new subscription. I have also added the lexmark sites to allow them through the firewall. I'm lost Please Help!!!

All of a sudden the printer has lost communication with my computer and the power button flashes. I can shut it off - but when I press the power button again it still flashes. The scanner works and the copy button makes a noise like it is scanning to memory but then just sits there rather than print. I've tried everything I can think of - unplug, disconnect every connection, take cartridges out and replace them (not with new because I know they are basically new and they printed fine less than 24 hours before this happened), tried to have the printer communicate with the PC in many different ways. Still no printing and power button flashes.......Any suggestions?

yes solved it - clean the ink cartridge sensors on the right of the printer where the ink cartridge go to be parked - they do a test before printing and they can get caked with ink from previous testing and thus it will most like be the black one has a problem since it does the most printing - you will need get the ink cartriges move to the center - then put hand inside the printer till you reach the right back corner - go below ink cartridge carriage rail and touch the bottom - you should feel the sensor pads there and they move a little bit even wobble some - rub the tip of your fingers over them and bring your hand out if there is a lot of black ink on your finger - clean it - i used just common ordinary facial tissue - a cue tip with rubbing alcohol might need to be used if its really dried and caked on - these sensors can go completly out and need to be replaced
- most of the time they just need cleaning
fix 2 - while you are there go ahead and remove the black cartridge and clean the tip as well
fix 3 some times the contacts need cleaning - they can get ink on them or they can corrode up as well from electrolyses - you probably need tv tuner cleaner you buy from radio shack or what ever a computer tech would recommend
after you do all of that make sure you do a print head alignment check and test - that will ensure every thing is in good working order and no more cleaning is required
most likely it is the ink sensors - fixed my brothers this morning

I have an Acer Aspire one net book I don't have the disc drive yet. How can I install my printer online?
Posted by harleyhone... on
Go to the manufacturers web page for your printer and download the software for the printer, save to desktop when downloading so it will be easy to find. Then just simply install from that file. I will assume you are using XP so the drivers should be in your system already, if not then go to Microsoft web site and update drivers. Hope this gets you there.

My lexmark printer x1150 prints blank pages. What is causing this?
Posted by sheilak687 on
a 99% chance your ink cartridge is empty or dried out and blocked. If the printer has had plenty of regular use then I'd go for a new cartridge. If it's a new cartridge which hasn't been used for a few months then it's more than likely a dried out and blocked cartridge. A small trick I've used for years is to get a dried out cartridge reworking is to run your water tap with a small but steady stream of warm water running in a continuous flow (not gushing and not dribbling) over the golden patch on the underside of the cartridge. When you first start you will notice the water run off will be black (if it's the black cartridge of course) then it will clear and when it finally starts to loosen and clear the blocked jets the water will start running black again. At this point stop, gently pat dry the underneath of the cartridge and put it back into the printer. Now print out a page of text. A few jets may still be blocked and you may have to print 6 to 10 pages until it completely clears but it will leave you with a printout like a new one at no cost. I've told this to many friends and the only people it never worked on were the people who had empty cartridges to satrt with.
Some Techs may frown at this but I assure you it works and there is simply no other way to get printing again unless you replace the cartridge. Just remember not hot but warm water in a gentle flowing continuous stream. and only on the gold patch on the underside of the cartridge. It's not a myth it works. I've been doing it for years and always kept it off the net until now.

lexmark x1150 series lxbkpswx.exe
Posted by lxbkpswx.e... on
Are you having issues with lxbkpswx.exe for your model? If you have a firewall enabled on your computer, make sure to allow the lxbkpswx.exe in the program permission. You can also try to update the Lexmark X1150 printer software by visiting the Lexmark website at http://bit.ly/dPIEij. Select your operating system > click on "FILTER" > click on the driver under Recommended Downloads > download and execute the file. Simply follow the instructions on your computer screen.
I hope this helps.
