unfortunately, it can be. its not gold, only a finish. and if you have a chemical in your skin that reacts to the chemicals in the gold tone finish it can wear off very quickly. Do you also get that green around your finger from a fake ring? or black on your earlobe hole from earrings? return the watch to where it was bought.

Ceramic is one of the hardest materials so should not have changed colour. Is it from a KORS dealer or from Chinese/on street seller. My guess is that the cerremic is actually plastic.

Tip & How-To about Watches
Changing Watch Batteries Lots of posters ask "what is the battery in my (name of watch)" with a view to changing it yourself. This is a bad idea for many reasons. You don't have the tools or knowledge to remove a rotary screw on back, or the gasket sealant for a waterproof watch. Some fashion watches have 4 traditional screw and need professional grade jeweler screwdrivers. Also, there are about 20 batteries commonly used in watches, in various sizes and internal technology, Lithium Ion, Silver Oxide and Manganese Alkaline. If you buy them, you generally have to buy 10!

Don't sweat the details. Just take the watch to your local jeweler. They have all the batteries at hand and the tools to remove the back. It is done whilst you wait for $8 to $15!

Take your Michael Kors watch to a jeweler who will open it, identify the battery type, and perhaps install a replacement.

OMG, why does it take s much to answer and who wrote the first answer? Perhaps she works for some repair woman? The answer to this question for Michael Kors Acrylic Womens Watch MK5248 is a 364 battery. It took longer for me to find the answer to this question than it did to replace the battery on my gf's watch. Here's a tip go to a hardware store or Amazon.com and by it for much cheaper than Walmart or like stores. you van get a 10 pack for about $5 on Amazon. Remove the screws over a white pillow case so that when/if they fall as you remove them you can easily see them. Took less than 5 mins to remove and replace the battery. Enjoy

Quoting from link above:

"The date of manufacture should be written as a 6-digit number in DDYYMM format. For example, if the watch was created on March 12th, 2015, the date would show up as 121503. Pay attention to this as counterfeiters will probably have it as MMDDYY, or in this case, 031215, which would be incorrect. Make sure to cross-reference the date with the model, as well, because if the date stamped was before that particular model was released, the watch is clearly fake."

It will be far better to take your Michael Kors watch to a jeweler for opening and battery replacement.

Mine did that and the repair man told me there was a little ring that went over the battery and I had it on upside down. I could not see much difference but it works now.
