It heard that sound before our HP laserjet model. The reason maybe is that the roller plastic drum was torn off due to volume printing. This needs technician to replace that parts and it is replaceable. Most of them are torn because of heat emitted by the printer.

Go into the printer menu and try to print the configuration page. If it doesn't, remove the network or USB cable and try again. If the configuration pages print, see if you can print the event log. That has a reasonable explanation of what is happening.
If you can print the config and event logs, there is nothing wrong with the printer. Delete the printer from your PC and reinstall the drivers.

The cartridge is not being seen by the machine....clean the metal contacts on the cartridge and within where the cartridge seat with electrical cleaning solution or isopropyl alcohol...if this is not the problem then look at the front door and make sure is properly aligned if not it can cause this error.

First I would recommend unplugging the machine.
Then reseat the formatter assembly.

The "I/O card not ready" is the network card which is plugged-in to the formatter. That card is for networking purposes. it will display not ready if their is not a cat5 cable plugged into it. On the first page of the configureation you should see the last 3 error codes. usually located on the left hand side half way down. if you are see 49X.XX errors you probably need to replace the formatter.

However the control panel blanking out could be several options:

First I would make sure it's not plugged into a surge protector. (HP recommends NOT to have any machine plugged into a surge protector),
Try a different outlet. if that fails that could revert back to either a bad control panel or the DC Controller. Below is a picture of the DC Controller

The part number for the fusing unit is RM1-4348-000

HP LaserJet... | Answered on Sep 08, 2010

This error code indicates that the Magenta Laser Scanner (the unit that controls the functions of Magenta) is having a problem. There's not much you have to do, if there's no mechanical or physically damaged components, following these steps will fix your problem. Remove all the cartridges, drum and the fuser unit, turn off the machine and leave it Off for few minutes. Also unplug all the cables attached to the machine including the power cord. Clean whatever is possible like the chips on the cartridges/drum, contacts (point of contact with the cartridges and drum) on the printer. Press the power button and the cancel button several times. After it's done and all the components are cleaned, turn on the printer, install all the units/components you've removed and check again. If possible, try with another Magenta cartridge.

If you have old cartridge with working chip, you can put it on the Magenta cartridge and try.

In most cases, cleaning and turning On/Off fix, but if in case it's not helpful, there must be another internal issue with the machine.

Don't forget to press the cancel button while the machine is booting up and keep pressing the cancel button while you install the cartridges.

There is no other solution except these, and hp will also tell you to call their technical support. You can contact Hp from the options listed here (click here)
