This may be an error relating to communication. If your printer supports it, turn on IPv6 support and restart the printer. In many cases, that has resolved the error code 49.xx

I hope this helps

On the computer in settings check your printer settings. Many units have the choice between draft, standard or best (or some variation of that). Best is the slowest, try adjusting down

First, make sure that the printer is plugged in and turned on. Close the output tray extender and rotate the output tray clockwise to stow it in the printer. Open the front door of the printer by tilting it down; the door is just below the LCD screen. Open the cartridge access door by tilting it down; this is behind the front door to the right of the LCD screen. Wait for the cartridge carrier to move into the replacement position.

For pictures of the front door and cartridge access door, see page 79 (page 85 of the PDF) of the manual. HP has the manual on the product support page: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-officejet-3830-all-in-one-printer-series/7172321/manuals . The current link to the manual is http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04724956 . The doors are also shown in the Setup poster but it isn't as clear.

I hope this helps.

Calibrate the printer. Follow these steps to calibrate the product and align the CPR.

1. Open HP Toolbox
2. In the Toolbox window, click the product model name to expand the menu choices.
3. Click to expand the Device Settings menu.
4. Select Print Quality from the Device Settings menu, and then click Calibrate on the Print Quality panel.
5. Click OK when the Your request has been sent to the device message appears on the computer.

The calibration begins and lasts for approximately 2 to 3 minutes.

If the printout still not acceptable, repeat steps 1 through 5. You can recalibrate the printer as many as three times. If, after three calibration attempts, the printout is still the same, service the product.

Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor as Administrator, it should find your printer, select fix scanning problems. After the Windows (WIA) Scan error is discovered, unplug the printer for a few seconds as directed, plug it back in, turn it back on, and restart Windows.
