mcdevito75 here, Both the fan and lights work off the wall switch, for the fan to work there is also a pull chain close to the ceiling on the fan shroud you have to pull that chain to get the fan going and 1--2 more times for various speeds. If by chance the fan is brand new, reove the blades and check for stops in the fan motor, right where the blades hook up, these are in place from the factory and have to be removed for the fan to work, they pull right out.

You just need to wrap it and tuck it .. You might need to cut some of the fan wires shorter so there is not so much bulk under the canopy cover. The fans are shipped with enough wire leads to be able to use a down rod, They can be cut shorter when the fan is being installed.

Most likely the remote problem is some kind of radio frequency interference. If the main problem is that they turn on when you don't want them on, then you could rewire or just put an extra switch that would turn off the power to the fan completetely. Then you would turn that switch on and use the remote only when you wanted it to run. This would be an extra step, but it would save you buying another fan.

You also might contact Hunter and see if they could send you a regular switch.

I had the same problem and I thnk Hunter Fan knows about it....I just called Hunter Tecnical Support at 901-745-9222 and they sent me a new White circular receiver which goes inside of the canopy and it worked fine after installing the receiver....

i don't know. battery may be dead in remote or in wrong way. please check batteries. if all tests ok, consider another remote at <https://www.ebay.com/itm/Hunter-Universal-Ceiling-Fan-Remote-Black-Receiver-K5579-01-NEW-/383158875857>

If remote and receiver is rated for fan load then this should be possible. Will need to replace remote and sensor units as 3rd party remote may not be compatible with the Hunter type.

Can be almost impossible to determine code without sighting receiver. Do you have old transmitter as the correct dip switch settings would be on this. One "trick" you can do if there are more than one remote fans installed is to check other controllers for their codes. generally when installers set dip switches for multiple fans in homes they move the No1 switch from 0 to 1 or vice versa, then the switch position for second fan is move switch 2 as previous. You may be lucky and "jag" the position otherwise you will need to get to receiver.

Is there power at fan terminals? If not then fan controller faulty. If yes then internal wring faulty and replacement necessary as not a repairable item. Also check if active and neutral are available at fan. Also if remote check batteries in remote unit or could be faulty remote receiver

I DON'T KNOW. IF FAN HAS PULL CHAINS, PLEASE CHECK TO SEE IF THEY ARE IN ON POSITION AND TRY REVERSING DIRECTIONS A FEW TIMES.
