There is a little bar that is on the ice bucket. That bar has to go into the middle of the plastic square that is on the back wall of the freezer. Try Pulling out the ice bucket, get a hair dryer and run the hair dryer on the back wall of the freezer right above the hole where that little bar goes. After you run the hair dryer for about 10 minutes or so put your finger in the hole and pull down on the plastic square. Make sure when you put the ice bucket back in the freezer, the bar goes inside the square hole, not under it, not over it. In it. If that doesn't fix the problem you probably just need a new solenoid. Part number 5304404333

Let me know how you make out. Good Luck

Just a thought. Our frigidaire stainless steel refrigerator came with a temorary protective film on the steel parts that we peeled off after it was installed. Is it possible you never removed your film when you got your refrigerator? That may be what is starting to peel off now. Again, just a thought, I could be wrong.

If it is the plastic protective coating, it should have been removed after installation. if you scrape with sharp object you will damage stainless finish. good luck!

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that the ice door is stuck on your Frigidaire refrigerator, model# FRS26BH6CS5. I suggest resetting your refrigerator, by either unplugging it or shutting the power of at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Restore power and try getting ice. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

Not to be glib, but one night my wife accidentally LOCKED the dispenser trying to turn on the light (front panel)...there is also a switch to turn off the dispenser inside my Kenmore...I believe in the KISS principle, check the simple stuff first. I assume it is making ice just not dispensing.

Hello Alfonso, thank you for your inquiry!

I am happy to assist you. By motor, do you mean the compressor is not working? If so, do you hear the compressor running? The compressor is meant to constantly turn on and off frequently to keep unit at a stabilized temperature. If you do not hear the compressor running, the refrigerator could possibly have a coolant leak, an issue with the internal sealed system including a faulty compressor, evaporate fan or main control board.

If you need an experienced technician, you can always refer to the manufacturer website where there is you can easily locate a local service provider in your area. If you need further help, please feel free to reconnect.

Hello, This sounds like you should look at 2 parts. Check your schematic which is usually glued to the motor compartment and look for the Dryer Heater and the Cycle Timer. The Cycle Timer is a device which triggers the Heater in Self-Defrosting Refrigerators. You need to determine if it is working, some have a external twist button which can be used to engage the Defrost Mode. The second part is the heating element which is turned on by the Timer. It is usually within the cavities of the inner shell of the refrigerator box.

Although all Refrigerators are meant to cool and freeze, the Self-Defrost models regularly generate a small amount of heat to lower humidity and to keep the box from icing up as yours has done.

I have had good experience with a business called Servall, which has service parts for all major Appliances. They may be in your phone-book, they are on the Web, and they have an 800 number. You may be able to obtain schematics and info from them and they have been in business since 1929.

Another source of diagrams can be your Library. There are repair books for major appliances there, even by Brand. I hope my solution is very helpful to you. I do not have Servall's number at hand, but it is an affliation of Service companies and one may be a local number for you. If you can find the schematic on your unit, a continuity test will tell you the condition of the 2 parts I mentioned.
For the timer, it must be turned to an active position to register.
