You should provide additional information about your setup. Which steps did you follow to install SageMath. Which installation of latex are you refering to? (you did install latex in the virtual box?)
BTW, is there any reason why you use virtualbox? You could give a try to the windows binaries. They are much more up to date than the virtual box.
Feel like I downloaded half the Internet..." That's probably part of your problem right there. Without more details we can't possibly know exactly what you did, how your computer is configured, or what the problem is. But usually throwing more downloads at the problem without understanding what you're doing is only likely to break more things and make the problem exponentially more difficult to untangle (for example you wrote "I reinstalled Python"; but Sage includes its own Python interpreter and should have nothing to do with other Pythons on your system). Did you install Sage using the executable installer? If so there's no need for virtualbox in the first place. And sage-8.6.tar.gz is just the source code..

Last time, we spoke about the overall benefit of workflow across a business. This time, I wanted to draw out a few more ideas on persona specifics inside the most business'.
To boost your sales team's success: It is often critical for a business to define a process, set goals, and track progress. Using workflow automation, you can build sales methodologies right into the system to ensure consistent follow-up. For example, you can automatically create a follow-up call reminder in your calendar after sending a proposal or quote.
With CRM maintaining the account history, you have the power to control how information flows through your organization. By implementing sales workflow(s), you can track every lead from the first contact to final sales closure. Plus, with alerts and notifications automatically sent to representatives, you can remind your team when to call customers, follow up with prospects or check that orders have been received. For example, you can design workflow so that input is required every time the representative interacts with the prospect to ensure a level of consistency in service, accurate tracking of pipeline progress and more. Putting workflow into your business makes everyone accountable so you can trust that your teams are following best practices and corporate-approved processes.
Here are some ways you can benefit from sales workflow automation:
Standardize lead qualification and follow up protocol
Achieve consistency in prospect communication
Automate the approval of quotes and discounts
Automate and assign rules-based tasks
Improve analysis of pipeline progress
Within the workflow, you can configure what is known as escalations - activating notification reminders and escalation rules. For example, when the system escalates an unsolved case, an email will be automatically sent to the team leader as part of the case workflow. Workflow can streamline many processes in your organization to improve the overall experience - for customers & employees. It improves overall experience levels by providing a repeatable process for information gathering, case escalation, and issue resolution.
And, with the visual workflow designer part of the Sage CRM proposition, you are empowered to automate any process in your business. The tools are easy to use with the intuitive, graphical drag-and-drop tool that requires little or no coding to implement. It's a solution to the critical need for businesses to deliver a superior customer experience - now & forever.

when programming, please use a decent spacing, else nobody will see an error when an obvious one exists. "pep8".
if i is a variable... ok, no problem we overwrite that ?1????, then please do not redefine it in a loop as a number. (This would have been a second alarm while reusing i...) Nobody does this, so this atypical error cannot be seen at a first glance. In our case this brings the error as follows. After the last i-loop this "global variable" has the value 2, and we try to solve a system of equations, where one of the equation variables is the constant 2. The error message is also misleading.
give a minimal code showing the error, only needed lines of code.
use list comprehension.
do not call a list eqns, when it does not collect equations, but rather entries of a matrix. The solve of these "equations" will be hardly detected with bare eyes as an error.
try to give pointed prints. The show command delivers a mess, is not a good control of the operations.
the two definitions of eqns and xlist are not needed. The wording for xlist is also not proper. Something like X_entries would reflect the provenience, but we do not need this new variable, the matrix X already has the information.
Please understand that these "critics" are just kind advices, at any rate not offensive, in my case, knowing these as i started programming in python would have been a real benefit.
sage: V=var("v", n=9)
sage: P=matrix(V,nrows=3)
sage: X=matrix(SR,3,3,[[0,1,0],[0,0,1],[1,0,0]])
sage: Pdagger=P.transpose()
sage: Xdagger=X.transpose()
sage: Q=X*Pdagger
sage: B=Q.solve_left(X)

As we come to the close of 2018, I wanted to share just a few of my reflections on this year & give you an insight into the world of Sage CRM in 2019.
We continue to gain many new customers around the world each & every month, drawn to the highly featured & keenly priced offer that is Sage CRM. We have, of course, a significant advantage that is the "open door" to our very large accounting customer base globally. This allows our reseller partners working with Sage 50/100/200/300 product lines globally, to provoke conversations with their own customers - asking them how they find, acquire & serve their own customers and speak about how Sage CRM features help business of all sizes improve their efficiencies & productivity.
I hear from my global colleagues that CRM functionality is, more than ever, in demand - particularly with customers dealing with a need to improve data management, process automation & compliance events. The continued success of the Sage CRM proposition suggests to me that customers are recognising a need for 'something CRM' and, knowing it is available as part of their accounting package, are getting around to unwrapping it & putting it to use.
In 2018, we released three updates to the product with additions and/or improvements to the interface, interrogation and integration elements across the product. We also included new "consent management" features to deal with legislative demands from across the globe of tracking marketing consent. All these updates, in addition to the many hundreds of enhancements (fixes & minor updates), made for a busy year for our Dublin development team to satisfy demands from the market, while improving the product's usability & deployment experience for employees, resellers & customers alike.
Our development colleagues in North America - our largest market - delivered a complete overhaul to the Sage 300 integration. Functionally similar to the older integration, the new component was a significant piece of work in replacing the underpinning technology and uses the new 300c cloud + CRM API services. Easier to deploy & support in production environments, I know it has been very well received by our customers & reseller partners alike.
Moving into 2019, we have just delivered the final round of 'roadmap readouts' with our key stakeholders globally. This completes a process that started with my "Commercial Ambition" paper (outlining the strategic rationale & commercial drivers) back in July & which formed the basis of the product roadmap for the next 3 years. Your local Sage office and/or partner can share the detail with you, should you like to know more.
My colleague, Jeff Richards, continues to do fine work in supporting our customer, partner, developer & internal ecosystems here on the Sage CRM Community. This should be the first place that you look for help around the features & environments for all supported versions of Sage CRM. This year has seen updated documentation plus a new Help Center that is fully responsive, allowing it to be viewed on laptops, tablets, and phones. Videos are also now embedded into the Help Center - you can play them without leaving the website - and there have been many, many new videos added in 2018. It is all part of our commitment to provide customers with an improved ownership experience. We know that this community is really working - with a substantial engagement on forums, blogs & eLearning areas of the community. This is an organic 'groundswell' of activity from a passionate and engaged membership of over 10,500 active members.
In closing, I say thank you for your business & committment to Sage CRM. I wish you & yours a restful holiday break wherever you are in the world and look forward to working with you in 2019 and beyond.

More than ever, it is critical for businesses to deliver a superior customer experience or risk losing to the competition. Manual processes slow down sales and marketing efforts and hamper customer service. So, ask yourself: Does your organization struggle with any of these issues?
Sales: Delays getting quotes to customers, obtaining sales pipeline updates just taking too long, maybe inconsistent sales follow-up.
Marketing: Completely disconnected with sales; promotions often compete against one another; not sending right messages to right audience; can't measure effectiveness of campaigns.
Customer Service: Poor customer support due to incomplete or inconsistent information, which results in longer time for case resolution.
Whether you suffer from one, some, or all of these challenges, the end result can be a lacklustre customer experience. Making Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools & techniques the foundation of better business management helps overcome these problems and supports stronger customer-focused strategies, often with the application of fewer resources.
In this two-part article, I wanted to explore the benefits of workflow automation and how it drives user adoption, reduces errors, and improves communication throughout your organization. Well implemented automation can positively impact your overall CRM return on investment (ROI) by supporting the ability to provide fast and consistent customer service and keep customers coming back.
What does workflow automation offer my business?
We all know that errors and redundancy waste valuable time in any process. Workflow automation eliminates those problems and paves the way for smooth processes even in difficult conditions. With a set of predefined and repeatable best-practice workflows in place, you can:
Reduce administrative errors
Automated workflow takes some of the "human element" out of the process. When you design a workflow in Sage CRM, it drives the process through to completion. It ensures that the steps in each process are followed in the right order and that the right people are receiving the information they need at the right time in the process. Best-in-class companies use workflow automation to help visualize, design, and alter processes. Using visual workflow design tools, you can see the bottlenecks and redundant tasks and make appropriate changes to streamline the process. At the same time, managers benefit from increased visibility into processes to ensure that all contact points with customers are handled effectively and efficiently.
Improve communication and collaboration
Sage CRM drives collaboration across the organization with the ability to easily access and share information. By leveraging workflow to send automated communications, you can ensure every department is on the same page. For example, sales can see active marketing campaigns and responses, marketing can match the right communication to the needs of the customer, while customer service can provide timely issue resolution. By using alerts and notifications, you can ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
Drive user adoption
Workflow automation makes the system easy to learn and use. It increases personal productivity by eliminating the guesswork from each process. As you empower each user with the right information at the right time, you get better insight into the customer and enhanced decision-making ability.

I would suggest to you to set up the credit card in Sage and choose it when entering payables. It will post directly to the credit card rather than payables. You will choose the vendor, amount, and account, as usual, just enter the payment method as the credit card.
Not entering them individually means you will have a rough time doing bank recs and you will have to do some math to get them done.
You can keep all the receipts in an envelope and post them as one entry at the end of each month, but you will not be able to manage cash flow easily because you will not have updated your books for a month. These small items sometimes add up to hundreds of dollars.
You can fill out a spreadsheet of all the receipts and post them as one entry at the end of each month. This will maintain a total you can subtract from your bank balance each time you need to do cash flow analysis and give you one entry at the end of each month. If you keep an invoice total on the spreadsheet as well, you can use it to check off the balances as they show up on the bank statement when you do reconciliations.
Generally, I've found it more work to find ways to not post them individually than to just post them as you get them.
Agate's idea of setting up a credit card is a good one also. You can set it up as DP (Direct Payment) and use the bank account in the setup, That way you can just pick the payment method from the payment method dropdown. If you do post them individually, you can keep the original invoices posted under the original vendor name so you can find them easier afterward.
