I just posted a solution for someone else with the same question. But I'm not sure how to reference that here so I'll summarize. Basically, just make sure you have your Arcsoft disk, and, if so, then go ahead and remove everything! I had Arcsoft on my computer once, I think it came with a printer I bought, and losing it was no great loss, and it did not affect my printer driver or any other program.

But if you don't have your Arcsoft disk, then you may want to hedge your bets and just leave it there, as it's probably not doing any harm.

No, it is not your printer driver, nor camera interface, it is just a suite of programs for doing creative things like making cards and calendars. I can't see why removing it would affect anything else, but it's your call. Let me know if this helps.

Thanks ~Jim :-)

First, make sure you have the Arcsoft disk in case you change your mind. I remember seeing the Arcsoft programs several years ago, they came with some printer I bought. If you have your Arcsoft disk, then you are free to experiment with options.

Look under Add/Remove Programs, and see how many entries you see for Arcsoft. There may just be one, I don't really know. But if there are several, then try to make intelligent choices about what you remove and what you keep. I'm not sure what you're using this for - - - anyhow, it says "Cards and Calendars", so those are the 2 main functions. Maybe if you're not using Calendars, you could remove that.

But I have a hunch it's probably just a single suite with these 2 functions built in. Let me know if this helps.

BTW, if you don't have your Arcsoft disk, I would not recommend uninstalling ANY part of the suite. For example, if it came pre-loaded on your computer, the only way to get it back may be to do a total, "factory reinstall" where you format the hard drive and put everything back the way it was when you bought it.

Thanks ~Jim :-)

All I did was uninstall the program and leave it that way. You shouldn't get anymore of those warnings. If it says that it may affect the way other applications work, just keep going. ArcSoft is not needed and if you really need it, you should re-install it. I tried doing repairs but it doesn't work. just uninstall and get on with your life/.

Try putting the installation disk in your machine. When you run the setup file it may well detect the existing application and offer to repair it. If not it will probably mean a full uninstall & reinstall

It would've helped if you specified the operating system you're using... There have been reports of problems initiating the program on Windows 7, especially of 64-bits.

Anyways, I'll advise you first trying run the program in a compatibility mode (link for Windows 7/Vista; works similar on Windows XP).

If this fails:
1. Uninstall the software.
2. Restart the computer.
3*. Clear remaining files/directory related to ArcSoft and/or Medial Impression in Common Files (within Program Files) and in Application Data (in your user directory -- in Local Settings and in Application Data itself).
4*. Clear the temporary files directory (link works for all Windows versions).
5. Reinstall the software...

The directories involve are usually hidden... To unhide them, follow this.

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply before rejecting my answer.
If you are satisfied, rate my solution with the "thumbs" or (even better) add a testimonial.

Good luck & best regards,

"ArcSoft RAW Thumbnail Viewer" component needs to be uninstalled to prevent accessing you information.

This is not uninstallation of whole software.

you can enter in the exact same codes that you did when you first installed the program. You may not have to do this as you have already done it once before and the record will still be on file. You shouldn't need a Kodak program.
