if you buy a 5.1 speaker you also need 5.1 sound card that supports the speakers. although it will still work with ordinary sound card but you can't actually use the feature of the speakers. the buzzing sound can cause by loose connections of the audio cable or audio connector. you can also hear a buzzing sound if you connect it at the wrong port. just remember the color codes
green - audio out (for speakers) red - microphone blue - line in or audio in black - digital audio

maybe the connection of your other 4 speaker is wrong or maybe when you buy it because it has a laptop in an appropriate price you are already encourage to buy it but you didn't notice that the other speakers are broken the appropriate things to do is you should bring back that to the store where you buy it and complain about the problem and I'm sure that they will replace that or if you cannot bring back that to the store you can just fixed it to a repairing station OK....:D

The manual for you speaker system is located here;

http://logitech-en-emea.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/logitech_en_emea.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=8793&p_sid=jIAa2a-j&p_lva=8040&section=troubleshoot&crid=439&lt_product_id=211&tabs=1%2C3%2C2%2C5&p_search_text=X+530

On page 2 of the manual it says that all of the speakers plug into the subwoofer, then the subwoofer is pluged into an ac power supply, then # 4. on page 2 of the diagram shows that the Audio input cable to your PC is the green, black & orange plugs!!!!! YAY!!!
If you do not have a Dolby 5.1 sound card with green black and orange plugs, you will have to buy one. The can be had for a little as $15....
Thanks,
James

Hi there stormy,

Regarding the compatibility of your speakers, I know for a fact that the HP Pavilion Slimlne s5380t is integrated with Intel HD audio 7.1 surround sound.

This means that it has the capacity to handle 2 speaker stereo or 2.1 speakers, your 5.1 surroud sound & for the home theatre experience it is also capable of handling 7.1 surround sound.

I hope that you get on well with your neighbours, ha.

kindest regards,

Ste.
