Hi, how do i calculate log^-1 on my ti-30xa? for example, in order to calculate log^-1(-2), what do i do? thank you.

The inverse of the common log function is the power function with base 10 (10^). It shares the same physical key as the log. You acees the function by pressing [2nd] [log]

For log in base 10 that inverse is 10 to a power of
More generally, let b be the base of the logarithm. If y=log_b (x) then x=b^y
For your case log=log_10, to calculate the inverse you perform 10^(-2)=0.01=1/100
On calculators the log in base 10 and its inverse share the same physical key. One is accessed directly, the other is the shifted key function.

To calculate the natural (base 3) log of 9.01, press 9 . 0 1 LN =

Both the LOG and LN keys are on the top row of the keyboard.

I want to know how to enter basic logs into the calculator: Example. Log3^9=2 How can you enter this into the calculator?


The 30XA only has logarithm functions for base e and base 10. However, you can calculate the logarithm to any base by using the relationship logb x = log x / log b = ln x / ln b

To calculate log3 of 9, press
9 LOG / 3 LOG =
or
9 LN / 3 LN =

How do I convert from decimals to fraction with my TI-30X IIS calculator? I need the step by step process


The following examples will demonstrate how to convert decimals into fractions using the TI-30Xa and TI-30Xa Solar. Please be aware that TI-30Xa Solar School Edition calculators do not have this functionality.

Example: Convert .25 to 1/4
- Input .25, press [2nd][<--] (says F<>D above it).

** F<>D means fraction to decimal, decimal to fraction.

Example: Convert 1.38 to 1_19/50

- Input 1.38, press [2nd][<--].

Example: Convert 9.75 to 9_3/4

- Input 9.75, press [2nd]{<--].

Can i do sigma notation on a ti-30xa calculator?


No. There are some keys on the TI-30XA that may make you think so, but they are statistical operations. For example, you can enter values using the Sigma+ key and the TI-30XA can give you the sum of the values entered, sum of the squares, mean value, standard deviation and so on.

You cannot do calculations like "Give me the sum of all integers from 1 to 100" with the TI-30XA, you'd need a far more sophisticated calculator.

Use the relation log5(x) = log(x) / log(5) = ln(x) / ln(5)

How do i find the negative log on a TI-30Xa


Hi,

Ex: calculate -log(15.32)
  1. Calculate the log 15.32 [LOG] [=] result 1.185258765
  2. Then press the change sign key (-) result -1.185258765
You can also try 15.32 [LOG] (-) [=]. Try to veriufy it on your calculator.

Using the correct key combination to determine inverse log


Hi,
Sorry to contradict you but there are many types of logarithms, the most important ones are
  1. the common logarithms (log in base 10),
  2. the natural logarithms (logarithms in base e)
  3. the binary logarithms (logarithms in base 2)
On calculators, the common logarithms are labeled [LOG], and the natural logarithms are labeled [LN].

The inverse function of the natural log function is the exponential (e^(x)), and the inverse of the log in base ten function is the function ten to the power of. It is called (sometimes) the antilog

Ex:
Question What is the antilog of 3.5678?
Answer The antilog of 3.5678 is 10^(3.5678) = 3696.579068
Verification: log(3696.57908) =3.5678
