Question about KitchenAid KUDS30IXSS Builtin Dishwasher
Kitchenaid kuds30Ixss dishwasher will not function at all. no lights on control panel. shutting off power overnight and then turning it on did not reset the unit. there is power to the dishwasher. when I removed the control panel to check the thermal fuse that is usually there, there was no thermal fuse at that location. Any guesses as to what is wrong or where the thermal fuse is located would be appreciated.

Its inside the control board itself, its snapped into it with little tabs holding it. ....it's round, and has two wires on it. About the size of a nickel.

All dishwashers usually start by draining first, if your machine does not detect that your machine is empty it will not start to wash. There are a few resons why this can happen, could be the pressure switch is stuck. Some machines ie bosch have a float switch mounted in the base so if your machine has leaked underneath and lifted the switch it will just stay on drain.... would help to know the make and model number

if your fuse is blowing often i would suggest you to move your washer to a different place and try a different plug point.
there may be some fault with your power.
try to sort it out step by step.

I don't know your technical ability, but there is a fuse located next to the control board inside the console, this is a good place to start. Kitchen Aid is good about putting tech sheets on the back of the kickplate and it should have wiring and diagnostic info there. Just be sure to put the sheets back so the next service tech to work on it will have them :)

Several possible problems: 1. door switch failed. Expose it and test 2. Neutral connection loose at junction box under dishwasher. Expose and test. 3. Control board or Touch pad failure. Expensive to replace.
