Question about Kodak EASYSHARE 5300 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Black in photos - Yes Black in DIN-A4-prinitings - No

I also had the "no black ink"-problem. Last week Kodak changed my device - but the problem is still the same: no black color in "normal" text-printings. But if I print a photo - no problem at all. So it can´t be a problem with the cartridge or the printhead. Any idea?

Print a demo sheet. Press copy and photo at the same time. Look at the eyes on the two kids in the picture, if they're coming out all white, your printhead is clogged. Do a printhead cleaning, if that doesn't work, call kodak, you need a printhead.

New ink cartridge only last less than two weeks after printing less than 30 pages

I had that model and the same experience. I kept buying ink until I realized I could have nearly bought the printer for nearly the same cost as ink refills, black and color. I also had an HP. Same thing. I finally bought the Kodak 3250. The ads about ink costs was so correct. Many more pages are printed before the "need ink" message is displayed. Buying ink online saves even more.

Color when I PRINT

actually, I bet you cannot print text either. It will come out very faded or completely blank. It is an issue with the printhead, on the black ink cartridge side.
You can try cleaning it using the printer itself (Menu -- clean printhead -- deep clean ).
IF you have the same problem, contact kodak aio support @ 1 800 421 6699 (open til midnight on ET) or go to www.kodak.com/go/atg and follow the troubleshooting steps there to fix the problem or replace the PH.

I have a Kodak easyshare all in one printer 5100

You need to clean the printhead of the printer to solve that

issue. Because everytime you print, excessive inks are going

to the printhead that's the reason why it's clogging the

system up. That's because Kodak printers is using

"pigments" as inks that's why Kodak printers are producing

high quality prints unlike other printers - a photo printed from

kodak could actually last for about 100 years. Now back to

your issue, you need to clean the printhead from the printer

but not manually. You could clean it by going to the

software of the printer namely the KODAK HOME

CENTER SOFTWARE. You need to click the "?" mark

icon on the upper right corner of the software window then

under the General Links select Maintenance then choose

Clean Printhead. Do it at least twice and then try making

prints. If that still doesn't work try calling Kodak Technical

Support Representative: 1-800-421-6699

I hope I have been some of help. ^_^
