Question about Krups Dolce Gusto KP 2100 Espresso Machine
Capsule is stuck in compartment and lever that punch hole in capsule will not go up stuck on the down
I had a similar problem, and it was down to high pressure remaining in the machine preventing the lever from releasing. You can test this by pressing the capsule in the machine (which will be much more solid than normal).
To fix, all you need to do is make a hole in the stuck capsule. I did this by drilling a small hole in the side of the capsule.
That releases the pressure (and a little spurt of coffee!), and the lever will release.

I too had to put a small pin prick in the capsule underneath to release the pressure.
The cause we me putting a capsule in and putting the lever down and turning it on without enough water in the tank. Walked away and came back an hour later. The pressure had built up and the lever was clamped down.

Turned ours upside down and fiddled with handle without using force. Handle eventually came up as normal. Problem was a third-party plastic pod which had squished rather than be perforated.

Is you melody auto if yes you may have to reset the gears .if your melody is manual and capsule is stuck you have to make a hole in the capsule from under the capsule holder to remove the water which had not come out it is only then that handle is save to open .you if the capsule is file with water it be comes a little bigger and it get stuck sow you have to release that presure

This can occur if you have left a capsule in the machine an the pod becomes 'bonded' to the needle in the foil lid. I found that by inserting a narrow pocket knife blade up into the capsule outlet and twisting it, I could break that bond and stop the capsule from rising out of its cradle when l lifted the lever.
