Question about Vulcan 36L Gas Kitchen Range
Hi again, OK, I bought and installed the correct regulator on the range. It heats much better now (a pan of cold water comes to a boil in 3 minutes instead of 10+). But I still have a couple of questions. 1. The installation instructions for the range call for 3/4" piping. I would assume that means all the way to the range? The regulator is 3/4". However, about 8' of the the gas line (from the 3/4" iron in the basement to the shut-off valve at the range, is 1/2" flexible copper). Could that be restricting the flow of gas and should I replace it with 3/4"? 2. When the oven door is shut there is about a 1/8" gap at the bottom that tapers to nothing at the top. Should the door shut flush or does it need to take in some air. Thanks again - in advance. Mike Miller
The half inch tubing should be adequate under most circumstances. However, you may run into volume issues while using the oven and a few burners at the same time. If it bothers you, replace it. The door should be flush (or close to it) on the sides and the top. If you have an air gap, check the hinges.
