HP All in One printer F4280 shows an Error code ''E''

When printer is turned on. Problem started suddenly. Tried power recycle and left unplugged over night. Tried taking our cartridges and replacing. Tried removing cartridges altogether and re-starting. But none of these have fixed the issue. What should I try?

E (Error Code), I've tried to cancel the print job, turn the printer off, then on - Still the error code. I've only had the printer a few weeks.

The lights flash in special sequences to inform you about various error conditions. See page 136 of the user manual which you can get here: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01374711.pdf

Replaced all three color cartridges (they were low), now the yellow doesn't work at all. Ran deep cleaning several times and tried a different yellow cartridge. No luck!

It insists there is a Cartridge problem on the Printer............ In this Case take out the Paper from the Paper Feed Tray........ Unplug the Power Supply from the Printer.......... Remove both the Cartridges from the Printer.......... Now take a size 10 Envelope fold it so that it should become like a thin long strip........ Now Insert that Envelope on the left side corner of the Printer and move it from right to left and left to right as fast as u can for about 10 times.......... Now Insert the Ordinary Papers onto the Printer and insert both the catridges and Turn on the Printer...... Blinking Stopped...........Issue Resolved....... Still Blinking: Remove both the Cartridges take a Paper Towel turn the catridges direction so that u can see a Copper plate with small boxes on it....... Just wipe it twice or thrice with the Paper Towel.......... Now insert it and Power on the Printer and see whether the Lights are still blinking if it is still blinking...... I have an Imageclass D320 printer. After a paper jam, I took the paper out and installed the cartridge back, but the machine keep making a loud noise when I close the right cover and showing "install...

Here are the original instructions:
Open the right cover.

zjlimited_635.gif

Remove the cartridge from the machine.

zjlimited_636.gif

Remove the new cartridge from its protective bag.
Save the protective bag. You may need it later when you remove the cartridge from the machine.

zjlimited_637.gif

Rock the cartridge 5 or 6 times to distribute the toner evenly.

zjlimited_638.gif

Place the cartridge on a flat and stable surface. Grip the sealing tape tab and snap it in the direction as shown. Make sure that the tab itself is detached from the cartridge.

zjlimited_639.gif

While grasping the cartridge with one hand, firmly and slowly pull the sealing tape tab straight out with the other hand to remove the sealing tape completely. Throw the tape away.
To avoid breaking the tape, do not pull the tape out at an upward or downward angle.

zjlimited_640.gif

Hold the cartridge and position the arrow mark on the cartridge towards the inside of the machine shown below.

zjlimited_641.gif

Align the projections (A) on both sides of the cartridge to the guides (B) in the machine (location (1)) and gently slide the cartridge into the machine until the right cover slightly rises up (location (2)).

zjlimited_642.gif

The right cover moves simultaneously with the action of the cartridge. Do not push the cartridge farther than location (2). Doing so will result in catching your hand in the right cover.

Close the right cover and the cartridge will be set in place (location (3)).
zjlimited_643.gif

zjlimited_644.gif

If the LCD displays [INSTALL CARTRIDGE], reset the machine by opening the right cover and then closing it.

Try a hard reset of the printer then, in case the error message is merely sticking or a remnant of a previous status, that the hard reset might clear...:

Turn the printer OFF, when it is on, by suddenly and sharply unplugging it from the power source.
Also unplug it from the computer!
Leave it that way for 10 minutes.
Plug it back in.
Turn it on if it didn't turn itself on. Wait for it to initialize.
Try the printer again.

It is possible that a sensor switch (of the type that is pushed down or pushed aside when paper is present in the paper path) is jammed or fouled or otherwise indicating incorrectly. A search of the paper path for such a stuck switch (in the position that it would ordinarily occupy only if paper were passing through the paper path) is your last resort in a case like this, before either having the printer serviced, or replaced and recycled (or, if less than a year old, returned to Canon under their standard one-year warranty terms for all the printers they sell. Call 1-800-OK-CANON to start this process).

As for recycling the printer, if you decide to get rid of it: usa.canonwebapp/wcs/stores/

...is the page from which you can order the printer recycled... go to
Printers and All-in-ones, then go to Laser printers, and select the ImageClass D320, then enter your serial number, etc.

Hope this helps.

I just replaced all the ink cartridges and the message says ink system has failed turn the power off then on again,. i have tried several times and get nothing

Hi Please follow the the steps given below Make sure that the printer's power cord is connected to the walljack (Avoid if there is any surge protector or extension cord) Take out all the ink cartridges Take a clean cloth, dampen it in distilled water and with that cloth clean copper contacts of the cartridges firmly Let them dry for 2 minutes Unplug all the cables from the back of the printer while printer is turned on (After closing all the doors that are open and also keep the cartridges out) After 2 minutes, plug in the power cable Put the ink cartridges in one by one, then close all the doors again Printer would start going through some maintence and then would start aligning the ink cartridges All the best!! As soon as I started using recycled ink cartridges, I started getting a paper jam error on my printer. The control panel message instructs me to remove the back panel and clear paper jam. I've done this several times but there is no paper to clear and the message keeps coming back. I've tried turning of the printer and unplugging it to clear the memory, but that doesn't help. Could it be that the chip on the ink cartridge is messing with the printer's operating system?

Will not print / cartridges will not move back and forth

I had this happen to me the other night and I had to restart the printer to get the print job out of the que. You could try that.

While it's restarting, unplug the power cord and the usb cable. That should reset it.
