Question about Summit SPWD1800 Laundry : Washer/Dryer Combos
When I set the washer to run a wash cycle (any), the water turns on and I can hear it filling. The problem is that it also drains at the same time creating a never-ending fill cycle. Seems like the drain valve doesn't shut when it is supposed to, water goes into the washer and then right back out the drainage hose. This is a new washer (30 days old), is there a quick trick to fix this without calling out the repairman?

If the washer is turning off mid cycle then the problem most likely has something to do with the draining or the filling.
First check the drain hose is not to far down the standpipe. If it is to far down then the water might siphon out during fill. The water would fill and drain at the same time. One cycle I would like you to try is the "Rinse Only" cycle. This is a simple, short cycle that should just fill once, drain and spin. If the washer will do this then the major components are most likely okay.
Make sure the water drains out and let me know if the drain pump is the source of the noise you hear.
