Question about Home Security
I can't find my manual. I just replaced the batteries in the push button and the base. But I can't get it to work. I need the chime code combinations so I can setup the right codes. I have a GE Wireless Battery Operated Chime with one push button. Bought it about 4 years ago. I believe there were less than 5 different codes for it.
Model number shows GE1601S & GE1602S
Hi there. I think I have the same GE chime. It has a series of 4 dip switches on the bell (base) and also in the switch unit. Just make them the same. On mine for example, switch # 1,2 & 4 are up (on) and #3 is down (off). Any combination of 16 codes should work as long as both units are the same. Just as an aside, I had a problem with mine working intermittently, then mostly not at all. It was the actual pushbutton switch inside the button unit. Luckily, I replaced the micro-switch and it's working again. Also during cold wet weather, the 12v battery gets depleted faster than normal probably due to moisture inside the switch unit. I taped a piece of plastic from a sandwich bag over the switch unit to help keep water out.
I hope this helps.....

I have the impression the 4 DIP switches were for transmit frequency, not chime sounds. Setting the DIPs for blocking out other devices from setting off doorbells. IF youhave trouble w/ false alarms or failure to chime & batteries are good, try another setting( base & button should be same. IE: 1 thu 4 either up or down. Up is ON down is OFF so set any combination as long as same on & off on all units. I kept getting false chimes & reset to 1&3 off, 2&4 on to block those signals (I think from hospital across the street) That chimed all night & day hours. Jim R Seymour TX
IF I am wrong, please advise
