SOURCE: The server doesn't boot

You can download the drivers here:
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?os=WNT5&osl=EN&catid=-1&impid=-1&servicetag=&SystemID=PWE_FOS_XEON_4600&hidos=WNET&hidlang=en&TabIndex=
However, due to the many configurations available in the PowerEdge server 4600, there is no way for me to tell you exactly which controller driver to use. You will probably have to make a boot disk to feed the driver to windows 2000.
Comment back with specific controller model numbers, and maybe I can direct you to the correct download.

During the Windows XP setup you will need to provide the RAID driver using a pre-formated floppy disk.
Windows will ask you if you want to provide additional drivers and give you the key combination to use to do that.

Entering setup network selected as first boot device for current boot

That a LAN boot Rom is used does not affect the keyboard entry used to enter setup.
The BIOS controls if the onboard LAN will run on boot up.
LAN Boot ROMs are used to download operating system code from a network server. So, the BIOS has priority.
The BIOS runs first, and if you enter setup by pushing the proper key for the motherboard, you can change the boot to DVD or another device (USB Stick) to troubleshoot the PC.

Did you save it to cmos before restarting your computer ? F10

Restart your computer

During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup usually the Delete or the F2 key

Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS the using arrow key scroll down to advanced bios features press enter change your first boot device to cd,press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart

note this will erase you operating system you will have to have an operating system disk to load it onto you hard drive or create a partition to load another operating system

(note after you have loaded the operating system you should go back and change the first boot device to your failsafe or optimized defaults)
after windows has loaded

your computer will automatically restart it might restart 2 times one to finish the installation
the next will be because the operating system is loaded and will boot from your cd

during the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup
Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS using the arrow keys load

failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart
otherwise it will keep booting from the cd /dvd drive

hope this helps

I just installed a new hard drive into my gateway desk top and put recovery cd in and its says missing operating system

Hello,

You will need to go into the BIOS screen and set the first boot device to CDrom. You can get to BIOS when the machine first boots, as soon as you see writing on a black screen press the bottom to get to setup. When you get to the setup screen look for an option to set boot devices or "boot priority". The first boot device needs to be CDrom and the second device can be Hard Drive. Now save the settings. This time on boot the computer will boot to the CDrom restore disk and you can follow its guides to restore your system.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

NTLDR file is missing please reboot u r system

hmm seems like your computers got a virus away this is how to solve it:

1. Locate you Windows XP CD and place it in your CD-ROM drive.

2. Restart your computer, or turn it off and then back on.
How to fix NTDLR MISSING error.

3. When you computer restarts you should eventually see the words "Press Any Key to enter Setup". If you do not see these words and it goes to the screen that gives you the error message, you will have to change your boot priority in your bios settings.

Changing boot device priority:
A. When you see you’re the first screen, the boot screen, press delete a few times until your computer beeps. Pressing the delete key will bring your computer up into the bios settings. The key you need to press may differ from computer to computer. If the delete key doesn't work for you, contact your computer manufacturer and ask them what key you need to press to get into bios.

B. After you are in your bios settings you will need to navigate to your boot settings. Depending on which type and version of BIOS you have, this process may be different. Either way, there should be a section called Boot or Boot Priority. Navigate to that and make sure that your CD-ROM has top or first priority. After you have don't that, save and exit (press F10).

4. Once you see the "Press Any Key to Enter Setup" message, go ahead and press any key.

5. This will start the Windows Setup Process; it will take it several minutes to load.

Missing operating system

missing operating system message usually means that your HDD is pooched, or corrupted
check your bios settings to check that it can still "see your HDD"

if you can hear your hard drive going "click, click, click" when attempting to boot, that is usually a bad sign

to perform setup use orignal recovery setup disk or OS disks of your choice (BOOT from CD) to install OS from scratch.

Missing Operating System error

your bought compag computer is a new one , because that error is appears only if the hard drive or the harddisk is defective or damage. Your installation of windows xp is finished totally because sometimes the error is appears because the system installation is not finished and the os system cannot read. try to re install again the windows and delete the old partitions and create again if the problem is the same even there is no error in the installation until it's finished i say that the problem is in the harddisk. Maybe the harddisk develop a bad sector in the master boot record of the hardrive

Missing operating system

You may need to access your system's setup. Usually by pressing a certain key during power up. Sometimes it's the DEL key, sometimes it's an "F" key. In the setup you need to tell the PC to boot up on that drive first, then save the setup. You neglected to say if your boot disc is floppy ot CD, but that drive must be bootable in the setup.

Hope that helps...
