Question about Canon PIXMA MP830 All-In-One InkJet Printer
I love my mp810 - but as i was trying to scan something today an error popped up saying ' unable to save file. the system cannot find the path specified'
i have restarted and tried different usb ports - and i have tried scanning and saving directly to my pc, and saving as a pdf and tried scanning and opening with a specified application, but all of the error messages are the same.
please help me
I have a Canon MP830 with the same problem. After replacing the hard drive with everything backed up, after it scans I get the same error message: " Unable to save file. The system cannot find the path specified".
Where do you look to see where the scanned file is saved to?
Had this same problem and just fixed it. You need to actually change the button settings in Navigator. Open MP navigator and choose One-Click, then click Button Settings. You can choose a new save destination from here. Even though you are using the software instead of the button on the device, it works.

1. Rename ~/Pictures/MP\ Navigator to have no space in the name
2. Poke around the preferences and the button preferences in MP Navigator and select the directory with the new, space-free name
It seems likely to me that Canon's stuff isn't properly escaping the space in the name at some point, so this works around that.

Go into MP Navigator. Go to Preferences Go to Scanner Button Settings Where is says "save it" select the Browse button and select the file you want to save it in. This fixes the problem

The printer will store it's scanned images as specified in the Canon MP Navigator software. If you open MP Navigator and click preferences you will see whare scanned images are stored, it's usually a dated subfolder in my documents.

Make sure you click the second tab marked "scanner button settings" and change the save settings from "automatically.." to "open the save dialog"
For some reason the automatic filename became "IMGles!!" instead of IMG.

Hello everyone, I had this same issue, it was because Windows defender was blocking access to the secured C drive. Even when installing the drivers, so i disabled it, installed the drivers then I added an exception. And that fixed my problem. Maybe you can give it a try.

Please check the location where the file saved by your Scanner and note down its size.
Also as you mentioned in your next reply, you need to go for check Device manager. Reinstall the drivers.
